Maybe we should rebrand illegal immigrants as “transplants,” a group I’ve noticed many urban leftists expressly despise. They can’t stand it when Don from Idaho moves to their neighborhood (no criminal record, master’s degree in computer science) but welcome José with open arms (his very presence proves a willingness to break the law).
I suspect this is because they can clearly see how Don impacts their lives. Don takes their brunch reservation. Don takes a comp sci job from their slightly less qualified friend. Don lives right next door. But they don’t really interact with José… not in any meaningful way, at least. If anything, they like José because he offers to cut their grass at even more of a cut rate than Enrique.
So here’s our new pitch: “Thousands of transplants set to imminently arrive in YOUR city. Expect a rent spike in your cool, urban neighborhood. Be prepared to lose out on those concert tickets you wanted, a transplant will probably get there first. You will have to book reservations at your favorite restaurant 2, maybe 3 months in advance. You will run into people who *claim* they’re from your city just because they LIVE there!”
With that byline, we would have immigration reform in no time!
These illegal aliens have no intention of VOTING - how daft must Biden be to not see this. Back when law enforcement was fairly standard, reporting was more accurate and the UCR was a reliable report on whether crime was actually rising or falling. I am sure you noticed that the FBI has become politicized. You can expect that any information coming out of the FBI today is pure political spin. The UCR depend on crimes being reported by local police and accepted by the FBI as accurate. If shoplifters are never prosecuted, and police are prevented from arresting them, then no crime has ever occurred. So you see how this works. Conversely, if the FBI wants to advance a narrative that say, 'white supremacists' are a major criminal concern, they can produce all manner of 'incidents' to support their Psychological Operation.
Example: The FBI’s crime statistics estimates for 2022 show that national violent crime decreased an estimated 1.7% in 2022 compared to 2021 estimates:
Murder and non-negligent manslaughter recorded a 2022 estimated nationwide decrease of 6.1% compared to the previous year.
In 2022, the estimated number of offenses in the revised rape category saw an estimated 5.4% decrease.
Aggravated assault in 2022 decreased an estimated 1.1% in 2022.
Robbery showed an estimated increase of 1.3% nationally.
So according to the FBI, violent crimes were trending down in 2022.
However, Hate Crime Statistics, 2022 provides information about the offenses, victims, offenders, and locations of hate crimes. In 2022, law enforcement agency participation significantly increased, resulting in 14,631 law enforcement agencies, with a population coverage of 91.7% submitting incident reports. These reports involved 11,634 criminal incidents and 13,337 related offenses as being motivated by bias toward race, ethnicity, ancestry, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender, and gender identity. There were over 11,000 single-bias hate crime incidents involving 13,278 victims and 346 multiple-bias hate crime incidents that involved 433 victims. In 2022, the top three bias categories in single-bias incidents were race/ethnicity/ancestry, religion, and sexual-orientation. The top bias types within those bias categories by volume of reported hate crime incidents is Anti-Black or African American for race/ethnicity/ancestry bias, Anti-Jewish for religious bias, and Anti-Gay (male) for sexual-orientation bias.
As Josef Stalin framed it: 'I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this—who will count the votes, and how.'

Go read the former National Review writer, Mona Charen’s latest at the even more ridiculous outfit than today’s National Review, Bill Kristol’s Bulwark. ‘We need more immigration, not less, blah, blah, blah, there is no outsized influence on crime, blah, blah, blah.’ How did so many complete phonies find their way into conservative journalism?
