Just wonderful, Ann! "The scariest book I've ever read" is one HECK of a review, coming from a person of your stature as an author, so I've ordered the book even though I generally prefer other genres. I'll give it a try and I'm sure I'll enjoy it given that it comes with such a high recommendation from you.

As someone who aspires to be a Gentleman I was terribly saddened to hear your story of the ugly Leftist woman who came right up to you and said "I hate you" right to your face, but I imagine that this is a frequent occurrence for you. It's quite a testament to your strength that you not only deal with visceral, seething liberal hate on a regular basis but you revel in it and you continue to enjoy living in NYC, a place many consider to be 'the belly of the Beast' for the Left in America. I'm wondering if you would mind disclosing what your response to that awful woman was?

I'm guessing that it was amazingly gracious, as evidenced by a similar story I heard. The way I recall the story, a young male liberal entered an elevator only to find it already occupied by yourself and perhaps a friend or two. He was instantly enraged and was on the verge of saying something awful to you but you looked right at him and gave him a big beautiful smile, which caused him to melt. He later wrote in some Leftist site (Reddit? I don't remember) that he later felt embarrassed at having failed in his duty... as a Good Liberal... to be vicious to you. He verbally prostrated himself before the other Leftists at the site, begging their forgiveness at having his natural male reactions win over his ideological duties as a liberal.

Thank you so much for the great podcast!

Anyone who visits George Town usually visits the Exorcist staircase on M street. It aways gives me the creeps.

Thank you Ann for this special. Will absorb the scary in its entirety. I am seriously afraid of the liberal woman. Especially how they offer one another cupcake questions and then eat the rest of us as their answer. Trump is not Hitler. I wish they would stop saying that. Kids, younger persons, hear this garbage and with the CRT and other crap they are learning in school it is an educational irresponsibility. What the heck goes on in the halls and classrooms of our elementary and high schools anyway? The formative years are crucial.

Speaking of the inspiration for "The Exorcist" book, I know both his son and grandson, and the companion referred to in the link below lives near me. The story points out that the companion says he confessed to her that he made it all up (yes, it's hearsay, but I give it a fair bit of weight). He obviously was a smart kid and knew how to manipulate his parents and the gullible. And out of that came the famous movie. It's not the first time a Hollywood has inflated something huge out of nearly nothing. https://nypost.com/2021/12/20/is-the-exorcist-a-true-story-what-happened-to-ronald-hunkeler/

Thank you, Ann for the October surprise! Lots of good stuff in this podcast!

1- Composting. Are you kidding me? Doesn't NYC have enough rats already? I had to look it up. (as this already sounds like a creepy horror story) Sure enough:

"Set out your leaf and yard waste, food scraps, and food-soiled paper at the curb in your DSNY brown compost bin. You do not have to use a DSNY brown bin. You can use any labeled bin (55 gallons or less) with a secure lid to dispose of your compost."

FORTUNATELY, despite getting some negative feedback on this: Mayor Adams recently "scrapped" this unknown 30 year decree due to budget cuts:

2- Scary Liberal Women - you have dealt with worse than just one on one in your career! Colleges and universities are putting out a lot of unhinged people. Thank you for continuing on and speaking out, but it's ugly out there.

3- I don't know that I want to read the book. I'm an October baby - and hate that the entire MONTH is filled with slasher and demonic stuff. However, if you have never seen the Dallas Jenkins series called, "The Chosen" (FREE on Amazon, btw), check out Season 1, Episode 1 that includes Mary Magdalene, possessed by an evil spirit, Lilith. It's powerful and definitely includes hope. I actually recommend the whole series. There are 4 seasons so far (each season has 8 episodes)- season 5 will be coming out in April, 2025. There will be a total of 7 seasons.

(also recommend the new version of "All Creatures Great & Small" - far better than The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, etc. Satan gets enough publicity, doesn't he? I can remember reading a book long ago called "Satan is Alive & Well on Planet Earth." It was written in the 70s and is for sale on Amazon, of course! Looking at the news, it still seems relevant.)

4- Kamala. The FAKE "town hall" where Maria Schriver made it clear all the questions were decided ahead of time - and not by the people in the town. How is it possible 50% of our country supports her? The Hitler stuff, locally, is featured regularly on TV commercials, on YouTube - all fake.

Great podcast! Thank you for putting so much time into your substack - I greatly appreciate reading and listening. Your guests have been amazing, as well.

Speaking of "The Exorcist" one of the scenes that caused people to faint in theaters upon its initial release (and was later cut for general release, though later re-inserted for home video) was the notorious "spider walk" sequence. Even viewing it today 50 years later, it's still extremely disturbing (all the moreso since it was made at a time when movies were done with practical effects-no CGI cheating or shortcuts.)

Trump is very much like Hitler in this regard; Hitler had maniacly insane and inept Dr. Mengele, and Trump had, albeit reluctanty, maniacally insane and inept Dr. Fauci. 🤔

Once in 72 or so as an innocent high schooler we ventured into Georgetown and walked around. A hippy looking possible college student came up to me and handed me a flier. It was a cartoon of Richard Nixon with swastikas on his suit and forehead and it was written something like “ beware of Richard Nitler” A war escalated by Kennedy- Johnson got bigger blame on Nitler, sorry, Nixon. Ha. History repeats itself. Kamalala must know this sounds stupid. But I guess if qualified degreed folk say so…. Proof! Ha. And hearsay I hear. This is dum

The first time I watched the original “Psycho” was about 1969 as a ninth grader. I still move the shower curtain from time to time- just to make sure. The Silence of the Lambs is still one , among many others that I must shield my eyes. Once rode the Glen Echo Park wooden roller coaster on McArthur Blvd and cried as a child. Down the road from there are the Exorcist steps in Georgetown on M Street that we climbed in 1974. My Dad was a property manager of Apts in DC and so often I heard him sigh, “Only in Washington”. I left 33 yrs ago. I was 7 in Bethesda when JFK was shot. MLK riots, May Day Demonstrations, attended Joe Theisman leg breaking game, on Mass Ave when Reagan was shot. The old Senators made it to 2nd place with Ted Williams as manager, the Bullets won a Championship, Skins Super Bowl. It’s like I miss it , but not really . It’s too fast paced for me. I write sometimes like this and erase it but this time I’ll post it. I’m not well read. I grew up doing more stuff than sitting and reading. I read the Bible now. I picked it up about 30 yrs ago and found out how great reading was. I’m almost 69 but hope at this time there are things to look forward to. It’s an exciting time as if we’re on the brink of something big that we’ve been anticipating for a long time. God doesn’t change.

It’s wonderful to hear Ann speak here and read the comments.

The instant Kamala started her gouging claims it was obvious she was running out of ideas. Now if we could get her to deal with beer prices at a RedSkins game. Now if that’s not gouging I don’t know what is😎

I think The Omen with Gregory Peck was scariest movie ever. I have an idea for investment. It’s the Linda Blair pea soup dispenser. You pour the soup into the head. Once it heats up it then spins around and dispenses the soup through her mouth and into your bowl. Any takers?
