I followed you for a long time and you are one of the only people that I Will pay a yearly subscription to. And I almost always agree with everything you say except I will never get back aboard the Trump train. I was a little disappointed with that move. But story number five is such a big load of crap. I mean I can't believe you put it on there. Now I know that Republicans must have a way of tweaking the inflation numbers just like Democrats do during their terms with the unemployment numbers. So it doesn't surprise me that these articles are out there.

I mean one. I work at a major big box chain resale store with over 2,000 stores. I am a manager of that store and since the times of the tariffs I've seen some products fall off and be replaced with other products. I've seen some products stay the same and I've seen some products fall off and never come back. But one thing I haven't seen is any products remain in the same price or going down and I don't mean by a little bit they're going up by a lot.

But even more importantly, I can just tell in my monthly grocery bill. I mean, I'm a single guy that works out eats healthy and I eat pretty much the same things week after week. Every now and then I'll switch up a little thing here or I'll switch up a little there but essentially I buy the same amount of stuff and it cost the same price. Before covid I used to pay about $65 a week. Then throughout covid it went up to about $85 a week and by the end of biden's term it was about $110 a week. The last time that I went to the store it was $130 so no not only since right before covid has my grocery bill doubled but it hasn't stopped growing at all since Trump got into office. Gas has been about the same or went down a little bit but groceries and everyday things that we buy and use and they have not stopped rising and cost at all. So I'm a little disappointed with that fifth story.

But I so do appreciate your work and I still do love you so much. No matter what train you ride on or no matter what you do, you always have the greatest articles and the greatest guests. So keep up the great work Ann.

Why can't I edit? Retail store not resale.

Mr. Smith's C grade reminds me of a joke.

'A' students get jobs at the top companies.

'B' students get jobs at start ups or old companies failing.

'C' students go out and make all the money !!

Communist Kids in NY are now eating their birther parents. The gift that keeps on giving.

Trumps strongest lane is 'Business' and we are the world's biggest customer, and the customer is always 'right'.

What a week for WINNING !! I'm a little tired but I'll be fine. Enjoy your summer. Peace Out !!

What has always puzzled me about democrats is they are always talking about what a miserable racist capitalist hellhole America is but they want to invite the whole world to move here most of whom are nonwhite. Maybe sadomasochistic tendencies are a corollary to there sexual perversion

Actually, I haven't noticed prices coming down any since Mr Trumps much-touted tariffs; those tariffs that were supposed to somehow defy all known laws of economics & by means so far left unexplained, work some sort of miracles on the country. Matter of fact, prices are more or less about what they were during Mr Biden's inflation. Same result, different cause; a distinction without a difference, as they say.

(And-call my cynical-but somehow I doubt that getting rid of the penny is going to achieve any economic miracles, either. In fact, I'd be tempted to say it won't make a penny's worth of difference...)

About the only noticeable difference I have observed since the onset of the tariffs is the growing scarcity of even the most-basic of common staple items on store-shelves. Growing numbers of stores, from Target, Walmart, drug & grocery-stores, are all characterized by empty shelves, devoid of formerly common, formerly readily-available items. Empty store shelves are never a sign of economic prosperity, I might add.

The fact Cuomo was not locked up his performance during COVID is a crime. If NYers are dumb enough to elect the socialist ….they deserve what they get.

I have not done a deep dive but the inflation stats tend to be based on either a basket of goods commonly consumed or a monetary calculation. Leave aside the monetary calculation as it is less relevant to the discussion. One can game the basket of goods calculation on the tariff front by excluding basket items from the tariffs. Say bananas are included in the basket but not avocadoes and both come from Brazil (making this up). Put a 10 percent tariff on Brazil but exclude bananas. Voila: No inflation effect in the data. You will still pay more for everything from Brazil that you buy but the CPI will not be changed unless the price of bananas goes up for some other reason. Also, other things in the CPI are produced domestically like gasoline and other than the Iran attack bump, that has been going down and fuel is a component of CPI so it counterbalances other stuff. Even when the egg crisis happened, CPI did not go up that much because other components went down and eggs were a small component. Finally, inflation is always a net increase in prices. For prices to come down, there must be deflation in components and enough of it to affect the overall number. All things being equal, if you paid $100 for all you bought in an average week last year and inflation was 2% last year, you would be paying $102 per week this year.

Hey, here we have another success story for Trump's tariffs! Republic National Distributing, a once-dominant company linking famous beer and vodka brands with local bars, is laying off over 1,700 employees and is pulling out of California altogether. Again: When a company can't even sell booze (something it could even manage to do during The Great Depression), it should tell you something...

Well, with Del Monte, the 138-year-old food staple company now the latest filing for bankruptcy (a food company remember, not a luxury item but a friggin' necessity, an 'essential industry' to coin a phrase) will somebody please tell me again why tariffs were supposedly such a great idea & a boon to the American economy? (When a company that survived the Great Depression, kept both the troops & the home front fed during WWII, survived the Ford-Carter inflation & malaise but can't apparently survive Trump's tariffs, it should tell you something...)

I knew Fred Smith while working as a Wall Street securities analyst. He was like a character out of an Ayn Rand novel, a freedom fighting hero with an intense pride. Moreover, Andrew Cuomo was such a scumbag I don't believe Mamdani necessarily won the democrat primary more likely Cuomo just flat out lost it with voters voting against him.

Thank you Ann for 5 Stories You/(I) May have missed this week. Absolutely love Coulter GTP. The information presented is darn brilliant. I have so many questions and none are about the factual information as presented. Here goes: 1) “Hiring commitments”—913 million in income for refugees? 2) Tent summits? 3) Language barriers? 4) No bail law? The information about marijuana, in my opinion is telling in so many Fed Ex/Fred Smith, Amazon/Jeff’s new bride ways—Quite the marital business arrangement. A new way to bring drugs into our borders. Lastly. In relation to the trafficking journey. I have very little knowledge of the Hilton family. However, from what I did follow and I tend to believe Paris Hilton in re: the fact she passed legislation to protect children which is more than can be said for some “suits.” I actually do believe in the brainwashing tactics used on a white person by a wannabe refugee and their Homies..
