Heartbreaking. Infuriating. Disgusting. Stupefying.

Where did the idea of reuniting families come from ? It is part of the leftist elimination of borders ideology. For instance all the mostly young single males sneaking across the borders will soon become the immigration equivalent of anchor babies . Of course they will have to be reunited with their families including cousins twice removed. Of course we’re not the ones separating families they can be reunited by going back to the wonderful socialist paradises they came from & leaving this capitalist racist gringo hellhole behind . There are 2 places in the world that must have inviolate borders one of course is Ukraine where else will the child trafficking rings get fresh white meat. The other of course is the mythical kingdom of Palestine which must be defended even if we have to decapitate infants to do it.

It is heartbreaking, but you should remember (or know) that) that government custody is the most dangerous place for a child.

Lets not lionize CPS.

But what happens if the roles are reversed? The parents are good and loving, but CPS and the judge are the crack heads who steal children from their parents. It’s one of my greatest fears of being a parent. And one reason I might never consider adopting children is the fear that allowing the state into my life means they could take not only my adopted children back, but also my biological children.

most adoption stories are still pretty great. bigger problem is if you adopt from a white trash single female who doesn't bother telling the father, he can come in years later and rip the child from the arms of his loving adoptive parents. Left wing freaks simple can't grasp the many wonderful purposes of MARRIAGE -- like giving you a right to your child. I wrote about it in "Guilty" in the chapter on single mothers. Sick sick sick.

I agree, the bar should be high for taking kids away from two parents who are married. I didn’t see anywhere in the article whether they were married, but the evidence of physical abuse should have been enough.

It's amazing how many pro-abortion people seemingly have never heard of adoption.

And they desperately want to keep women away from crisis pregnancy centers.

Oh they love to trot out “right wingers say to give up babies for adoption” then they whip out their trump card: number of children in foster care. As if that’s cause and effect.

In fact, the only kids in foster care for more than a year -- before being adopted by a happy stable family -- is generally to let the mother/parents have a chance to get the kid back -- you know, after putting the kid in a pot of boiling water. OR it's kids who've been through the futile and wasteful attempts at "family preservation" so long that by the time the court FINALLY cuts of parental rights, the kid is a teenager (and totally screwed up).

This is one of the saddest articles I have ever read. How crazy our once safe and just country has become. Thank you for ending it on a somewhat happier note.

NOTE: This horrible situation was only ended after Republicans won HUGE majorities in the house AND senate in 1994. We need to win elections, right-wingers! Please stop pushing WAR! CHAOS! TEAR EVERYTHING DOWN!

We have a really good shot in 2024 -- unless you nominate Trump.

If an " obsession with keeping 'families' together is another zany progressive cause," why don't the liberals reform the welfare system and make being a single mother less profitable?

That's why "families" is in quotes. It includes crack addicted single mothers (and their boyfriends).

From the linked U.S. Advisory Board report:

"Many researchers believe that discussions of race obscure the true

contributing factor: poverty, which affects roughly one in two American

Indians and one in three African American and Hispanic families, but only

one in nine white or Asian families (American Almanac Statistical

Abstract of the United States, 1994). However, while poverty afflicts

nearly one in three Hispanics families, they do not appear to be

overrepresented in fatal child abuse and neglect (Robinson & Stevens, 1992)."

Damning. So much for tabula rasa.

Any reliable statistical causation always seems dependent on the author’s/sponsor’s agenda...as in “smoking kills”/“morbid obesity is body positive”.

Thanks Ann. There is one other thing going on here which I discovered doing a report for the Reagan Administration years ago. The Child Welfare people don't like cutting the cord by terminating parental rights because that can cut them out of the loop e.g. if the child is then adopted. Child Welfare HATES permanent solutions because then they can no longer intervene. The usual result is to keep the kid for years in foster child limbo, bounced back and forth from families to fosters, but maximizing the Child Welfare types' control and funding. Reforming the family gets added to their to-do list--and funding--as it that were remotely possible.

Thank you Ann. A very, very tough read. Dear God. Is there any ounce, any ounce of human decency in these people’s blood. Thank God for Sister Josephine stepping up, although her hands were most likely tied from the minute she spoke. Adoption can be a lucrative business……for a lot of self possessed idiots and savages. Agree: circling the wagons in these stories and cases is horrible.

NO -- SISTER JOSEPHINE'S TESTIMONY WORKED! The Republican House and Republican senate passed the child safety law that reversed the incentives, put safety of the children first and, by now, has saved thousands of children from hideous deaths. Again, I say: THIS IS THE DIFFERENCE WINNING ELECTIONS CAN MAKE.

Please don't run off (not you, Julie - everyone!) and say, "oh we can't win, they'll steal it, go trump, etc etc." WE CAN WIN BIG IN 2024. just stay away from the bratty children throwing tantrums. Focus: it's about crime, immigration and wokeness (i.e. anti-white racism + anal sex cartoons.

I must wonder if judge Erik Pitchal was a classmate of Hunter Biden's when he was doing whatever one has to do to graduate from Yale Law School?

They both seem to have that awful judgement so prevalent with the entitled.

Horrific. My first thought (only because of the horrible stories I've heard about) is how obviously bad the situation must have been for case workers to actively follow up on keeping these children away from their evil parents. Their work is made harder by these judges and policies that undermine them. The bonus content is a glimmer of hope. Thank you for including!

Thank you Ann and to one of the responses here today (Helio) for providing the link to your 10/11 thoughts on Simone show. Listened to exchange with Mark. Three noteworthy items: 1) Third Worlders and Immigration and Terrorism. Uniparty. Agree. Spot on. 2) Agree with McCarthy thought. Personally. Do not like Gaetz…Healthcare discrimination: Taylor- Greene going after Scalise and his current health issue is a low blow and once again discriminatory. 3) RFK is name recognition only. No substance of bonafide patriotic support for our country’s health and future.. All talk. No action.

this is an ATTROCIOUS thing! somehow, I'm not surprised the media didn't give it much (if any) coverage.

but I expect this kind of thing WILL be referenced when the Left tries to claim that parents have no rights and "transgendered" children should be taken from them if the parents won't "affirm" them as the Left thinks they should.

Oh I love this happy ending Ann!

Was so scared it would end like “and the CPS took him back to the mother and I lost my job because I is was doxxed for being a RaCiSt” but good prevailed here😎

CPS needs to also take away these “mothers and fathers” ability to harbor vicious dogs cannot tell you how many kids have been maimed and killed by murder mongrels that abusive parents have a propensity for owning.
