Right on target Ann, as usual. Immigration scammers are going to be a major, adored voting constituency group for the Left and the Times is obviously pleased in its recognition of the new demographics in America. The full article is actually quite chilling, in that it details new plans to allow illegals to stay in the USA instead of having to return to their home countries for 10 years before they're allowed to re-apply for entry, as has been the existing policy. It will further erode the entire concept of legal immigration vs. simply running across our borders.

Readers who rightly recoil at the thought of giving the hard-Left NYT money for a subscription can read the full article at The Wayback Machine here at no cost:

https://web.archive.org/web/20240611035240/https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/10/us/biden-immigrants-citizenship-marriage.html

Thank you Ann for bringing this to our attention...the article lays out the wide-ranging effort to weaken every aspect of immigration laws and it should terrify anyone who has even a remote understanding and appreciation for America's unique greatness, as laid out by the Founding Fathers.

These are dark times, indeed.

The scam is actually in place and has been for a LONG TIME. There is what is termed a ‘waiver of inadmissibility’ any 3rd world scum, who cannot lawfully stay or b admitted to the US, can apply for, provided there is proof of ‘extreme hardship’ that their inadmissibility would creat for a US citizen or permanent resident spouse. What proof is needed to demonstrate ‘ extreme hardship’ which is necessarily beyond the hardship what any separation brings? It’s what the decision makers say it is. It’s discretionary. Facists placed in positions of power to decide what is ‘extreme hardship’ are the hacks subverting the clear intent of the law and most other laws because they WANT TO. Would it be surprising that some leftist hack immigration judge would rule that ‘extreme hardship’ is proven with a plea of “but I’m so lonely without him”. Yes this bullshit happens all the time. And when asked the recipient who gets the waiver will say ‘I came here legally’. Yea right. It matters not the law, but who has use of the gavel or the cuffs.

Pleasuring Ashley is certainly an “extreme hardship” which requires an illegal alien willing to do the job that no American would dare.

Don’t mess with the memories…spent my youth on a real Vespa scooting around some of the most isolated and beautiful tropical paradises on the planet but…the poor Vespa is only powered by 49+ CCs and the seat size is somewhat limited…not to mention that if Ashley sat on a Vespa the poor scooter may well just disappear like a fawn down the throat of a python.

The Democratic Party is flooding our country with third world illegal immigrants in order to get them to vote and keep the Party permanently in power!! We are deliberately importing more poverty and crime! I’m sickened by this!

The NYT and its adorable little “journalistic” minions have perfected the fine art of gaslighting abuse in the tradition of Völkischer Beobachter, Pravda and the People’s Daily.

News is nothing but ad nauseam victimization sob stories.

Poor Ashley should just send her “portfolio” shot to the right ad agency get a gig dancing around in a Jardiance commercial…pays much better.

Speaking of gaslighting, how about that lovely NYT phrase "Calls for such a move have been growing in some quarters . . .". You know, just like calls for legalizing pedophilia or abortion up to age 3 (in some quarters they might call that The Three Strikes Act or The Second Chance Act).

Anyway, at least Ashley didn't hook up (that we know of) with Robert Hunter Biden (Wikipedia: "American attorney and businessman"), star of NBC 's coming hit show The Most Dangerous Catch.

Almost every piece of “journalism” is tripe cut out of whole cloth.

You know the BS is thick as soon as you see or hear the operative terms “could”, “might”, “possibly”, “sometimes”, etc.

And to your observation, any suggestion that Hunter took Ashley for a ride is Russian disinformation and I can produce 51 “experts” to attest to that “fact”…Although I is possible that John Brennan could have experimented in “unnatural acts” with Ashley and might have enjoyed the rumored tryst.

Brennan, who admits to voting communist before joining the CIA, is a big fan of unnatural acts, even stratospheric aerosol injection! A regular Dr. Strangelove. He's spoken of it openly at the Council on "Foreign Relations" (still another covert reference to unnatural acts?).

Don’t forget the family reunification aspect of this story. After entry, the bridegroom will file to have his two (or more) baby mamas and three (or more) children admitted to our country. After they get on Medicaid and welfare, the baby mamas will file to bring their men and children here for same benefits. Within five years, the whole village will be here, and a whopping six out out seven hundred of them will be working. Thanks for the wall, Trump.

Agree, but a wall wouldn't have meant a thing given that the U.S. and NGOs have maintained camps in Central America to get people to the U.S. border where the Biden Border Patrol completes the smuggling process by giving the illegals free phones and tickets to the cities of their choice. And now Mayorkas wants to spare them the arduous journey through the Darien Gap and the subsequent boring bus ride, so we're arranging flights from Ecuador and Columbia. No one needs a 30-foot ladder when the U.S. government is the world's biggest human smuggler?

I’m angry about Trump not building the wall not ending birthright etc but isn’t it a distinct possibility that Mayorkass would have blown holes in that wall had it gotten built and reinstalled birthright citizenship?

Expand full comment

Quite possible, Robin. But I gotta fault Trump again. Had he not allowed Fauci and Birx to panic the country 52 months ago—had he taken the point position on Covid like Gen. Patton did when he led his Third Army on a road march and spoken the truth: it’s a TREATABLE RESPIRATORY INFECTION, folks; we’ll work through it without shutting ourselves down—he would likely have been in office the last four years, putting the finishing touches on a successful presidency, featuring a border wall; and none of us would have even heard of Mayorkass—or Sam Britton, Rachel Levine, Pete Buttigieg, or Dylan Mulvaney, for that matter.

If he wins in the fall, and fails again on the wall, the result will be, as Ms. Coulter famously said, Adios, America.

Yes, and his VP should kick his behind to get this done. At least we could get a pro wall VP?

Robin: who? Nikki Haley? Just kidding! If he picked that Fragile B-word I would either open a vein or write in Bernie—on the condition that he would be the old Anti-Immigrant Bernie again.

Will J. D. Vance help him lock up swing states like WI, PA, and MI? If so, then pick him. Is Rand Paul interested? Massie? I like Marsha Blackburn and Kim Reynolds. Any of the above—add Vivek and Burgum in there—and I’m good. JUST NOT NIKKI! No. No WWBS need apply!

The odds are better in Vegas than venturing across international borders to find a mate. I’ve known two guys who played the odds and lost…. Their : credit, money, home and one ended up in jail while his investment accounts were emptied.

Another friend is currently in the Philippines attempting to screw his life up ….again. There would be less immigration scammers if there were less losers volunteering to get scammed.

Of course there are many wonderful women in the US who are looking for the right guy…one just has to be perceptive, independent and look in the right places…not a bar frequented by investment bankers and prospectors full of fillers, silicone, false clown eyelashes and handbags they can’t afford…quality American women are only looking for men with the same “quality”. As much as I hate illegal immigration, the legal immigration situation for spouses in America is also jacked up. My fiancée and I were looking at an estimated TWO YEAR wait for a spousal visa. Of course, she could have just come on her tourist visa and overstayed, but neither of us wanted to break the law. Fortunately, she has a degree and experience in her field, and found a job in the US that will sponsor her H-1B.

That would not have been illegal. If she already had a tourist visa she should have come here, visited you, been surprised by an engagement, got married, then filed for her green card. This idea that immigrants who come on other visas should not marry and get green cards is a myth not supported by the laws. On the other hand, if she arrived at the border with 4 suitcases and her cats and said, "I'm here to marry my U.S. citizen fiance," they might have told her to turn around.

We were already engaged and it would be illegal for her to use her tourist visa with the intention of staying and getting married. The only option would be to hit her over a head with a rock until she "forgot" why she was coming to the US, and for some reason she wasn't down with that idea. Or we could've lied to the immigration officer, but even if we had, she would've been stuck in the country while her change of status paperwork went through the system, according to the data at the time we looked it would've been about 18 months. She also wouldn't have been able to work or study legally for about 6 months.

That's true about working and studying, because you have to wait for the temporary work permit. But I have seen hundreds of people come in B2 tourist, get married the next week, and have their green cards approved.

I married a lady from Europe. I followed the law. Next year she'll be a citizen, and in the years she's been here more than pulled her weight and contributed. Far more than that one in The NY Times photo. I don't know how many lefties said to do just what this one did, thinking, "What law? Why should I follow it? They don't apply to me! ". Very glad she got burned. I did learn something useful in law school !

The only thing worse than shady imagination is the folks who don’t appreciate living in the USA. I know a British woman who married an American-socialist -lawyer had 2 kids and owned a very successful business. They made it clear how little they liked living in the south ( 25 years) and how everyone was inferior. Then bragged how their kids were now duel citizens and were traveling on British passports. After being pounded by their BS, I told them to pick a country and stay there! They appeared offended. 😎

I'm just surprised her chubby-chaser hails from Brazil, versus say the Democratic Republic of The Congo or really any of Africa's gemstone civilizations as there are a lot of brothers who would canoe from Côte d'Ivoire in a crazed effort to seek refuge in her ports of entry. I can almost hear some of my old schoolyard buddies from the 1970s now: 'She so big she got three NGOs feeding her migrants! Damn!'
