In Italy, voting is done in person at a local polling place. Voting by mail is prohibited (except for citizens living out of country). And, AFAIK, Mark Zuckerberg isn't allowed to hire a private army to meddle in the process. So, I am confident this was a free and fair election. Viva Fratelli d'Italia!

The Times' coverage of Italy's desire to be Italy will serve as a template for their coverage of the campaign and election of President DeSantis who will be viciously excoriated and slandered far beyond even what they did to Trump.
In the meantime, whenever I can't find a "Made in America" product that I'm looking for, I'll seek out a "Made in Italy" substitute. Italy is famous for very high quality consumer products and I'll be delighted to help their manufacturers along as much as I can. I wish to encourage other readers to do the same, and to keep our dear Italian Friends in your prayers as well. They have some rough seas ahead, but I'm so very happy that they have what appears to be a strong and capable leader at the helm, who loves her country deeply.
