This is one of the biggest mysteries. The Drudge Report looks like it is being run by MSNBC or Media Matters stooges. I still look at it to see what the other side is saying/seeing. Our biggest problem is the brainwashed and the low information voters. The people who think January 6th was an insurrection rather than a riot (my retort to my commie friends is you think we are gun nuts and yet we didn't bring them to the insurrection?). They think the Russians stole 2016. They believe Biden's version of fine people. They think Walz isn't a creepy weirdo but rather a folksy story-teller (like Joe Biden). Throughout the last two decades roughly, the discrepancy has been growing. We know what the other side is doing and saying because people like Ann tell us. The other side and the legacy media do not tell the other side honestly. They twist it like propagandists do. The corporate media isn't trying to make a name for themselves by speaking (Oh I can't bring myself to say it)...by holding the powerful and rich accountable. They are part of the corporate machine and make a name for themselves and are paid to toe the party line and deceive half the people. If the Monica Lewinsky scandal happened today, the Drudge Report would have helpful articles on how to get stains out of dresses and how 60% of adults are not sure oral sex is sex.
Drudge visited Alex Jones live on air in October 2015 to warn that his time, and maybe conservative's time, was coming to an end. He'd been warned by an unnamed Supreme Court justice that his time was over--that his method of aggregation, even of headlines, would likely be ruled by the government to be patent infringement. He also promoted having your own site and bandwidth rather than allowing yourself to be limited by the corporate ghettos of Spybook, Instagram, etc. Now, of course, we have AI, mobster lawfare, and George Soros planning to buy Infowars and even Alex Jones' name, while the Wall Street Journal today is aghast that Elon Musk has been backing Republicans with millions of dollars. Don't recall any similar article about Soros buying up DAs all across the US.
I think if Trump conducted himself more like JD Vance, he would be running away with this election. I don't pay attention to polls, but I do believe this election will be pretty close. Great article, Ann.

As it relates to the Drudge Report and its so called “stats.” The Drudge Report is a connector of hyperlinks to news websites all over the world. (wk). As I understand, in 2009, the US Atty General in Mass. issued a warning NOT to visit the report due to malicious code contained in some of the ads. Third. How the campaigns may or may not deal with our US “Fair use” of links and hyperlinks.(IE: Say anything, do anything).”Fair use” is NOT the same as “Fair dealing” common in countries other than USA…Does or doesn’t concept apply to defamation and character assassination of another individual over the air waves.

The Drudge Report is about as relevant as Howard Stern. Both are just artifacts from the 90s, and are unrecognizable.
I doubt that we will ever know the full truth about it, but whatever Matt Drudge did... he'll never be forgiven.

I remember the old days (1990’s) when the Drudge Report helped bring down Bill Clinton! It is now nothing but a left wing rag!
That site has been a house organ for the left since 2019 accompanied by a stunning decline in traffic.
