So they scrubbed all her social media posts before releasing her name. What are they hiding? I have not read or heard any such scrubbing of the other two pilots killed in the crash. What gives? What make her case unique to take such action?
No mention of the Kiwi lesbian Captain that sunk AND grounded a billion dollar ship? I’m sure the New Zealand media had some way of shrouding her incompetence.
We kinda knew, didn't we? Just based on the delay in getting her name? By the way, I don't care "whatever" reports they can put out showing her training records, performance reports, past ratings, or if she was in MENSA while getting her doctorate in applied mathematics... THAT crash was 100% her fault! Any honest person in aviation will tell you the very same thing!
“As MSNBC's Joy Reid pointed out in 2022, Ketanji Brown Jackson's elevation to the Supreme Court provided "a great lesson for the way that black women have to over, over, OVER perform, just to get to where people who are far less intelligent ... get for free."
As a white middle class male who, from 7th grade through the end of graduate school (Ivy), not only had “to over, over, OVER perform” to gain admission for the privilege of working my butt off; sweating into above-average GPAs and having the fun of my family and I paying cash plus taxes for this privilege…”just to get to where people who (were) far less intelligent (and totally unqualified)...(got) for free."
But, for the rest of my life I will always know that with the grace of God; the blessing of superlative parents; countless hours of hard work and a bit of luck, I actually earned and, by any standard, deserved my achievements (which taught me how little I know and how life is a blessing of infinite curiosity and continued learning.
This is already being swept under the rug. I have become so distrustful that I more than once thought they offed that poor little Mexican girl and her family in the Philly crash to get this one out of the headlines... I swear I saw a report that this helo pilot also worked in the Biden White House somehow. Here we go but this is not the first place I saw it. https://www.thetimes.com/us/news-today/article/captain-rebecca-lobach-washington-dc-plane-crash-blackhawk-pilot-50rkc5kx3 I was in the top 1% of my class but it doesn't mean I would be a good pilot. So BS there. Having said that, I still the think the controller could have prevented it with an instruction to alter course, speed, and altitude. It does seem like whoever was flying thought the flight they were being warned about was the flight following JIA 5342, AA 3130. Also the helicopter was flying above 200 feet most of the time (the radar is in 100 foot increments) and while the helo was briefly at 2, it went back to 3 as JIA 5432 went from 4-3. So the helo was above where it was supposed to be. Anyway, looks like the pilot was "connected" if she was hanging around with Biden. Having said that, the DEI problem appears more striking at FAA where they attempting to recruit nonwhite male mental patients and dwarves rather than the most qualified people. And stupid fact checkers, it is not that a dwarf screwed up in this case (or any other minority at FAA). It is that FAA spent time trying to find minority needles in haystacks instead of hiring the many white people who aced the tests. Perhaps that is why there was only one controller when there was supposed to be 2! Get it! Also, Maddow is so nuts she insinuated it was because the FAA director position was empty since the 20th. Yup, that was it, if only he/she/they were manning a screen, none of this would have happened! Idiots.
Leave it to Rachel Maddow on her show within 24 hours of the air accident over the Potomac River accusing Pete Hegseth of releasing the names of those on the Black Hawk helicopter which she said was against Army regulation because next of kin had to be notified first. Only thing is Hegseth did no such thing!
Maddow reminds me of Rick Lazio who ran against the harridan Hillary in 2000 Senate race. Dead ringer. She wears the same clothes every day, like the Chicom soldiers. Flaps her arms like a hummingbird and blinks faster than that same hummingbird!
An excellent article, Ryan, and thank you so much for posting it.
I've been sounding the alarm about DEI in commercial aviation...including the hiring of pilots...for years on Twitter / X but it never seems to gain much if any interest.
Sadly, it quite often takes mass casualty events for people to take things like this seriously. It's so much easier to pretend that all pilots and controllers are equally qualified when the alternative would be to recognize the truth and consider alternate modes of transportation.
I agree, I'm sharing with my whole family, just as soon a my nephew and his wife fly back from Hawaii. Maybe in the future I'll take a cruise to another country that's not committing cultural subside and fly from there.
Thomas, I could be wrong but I've gotten the impression that DEI hiring of pilots is pretty widespread, and it may take a generation or more for commercial aviation to become fully merit-based worldwide once again.
For European travel, you may wish to consider looking into passage on The Queen Mary II. ( Cunard ) She can take you from New York to Southampton, and this year they even have a couple of sailings to Hamburg. From there you can take a train or rent a car and go anywhere you like. I've driven all over Europe and the UK and I'd highly recommend it.
The QMII is a vessel I'm eager to sail on because she's the last true Ocean Liner...a distinction you may wish to research online, but essentially it has to do with the hull design which is faster & better for heavy weather than modern cruise ship designs.
Spectacular, deluxe service in the Old World style, or so I understand from the many YouTube videos made by enthusiastic passengers. Not cheap for the upper classes, but the lower class is about the same cost as an airline ticket, and I would argue that you'll be getting a far nicer trip than an airplane ride...if you've got the time.
You're probably right Stoat, and thank you for the recommendation on QMII.
The woman I'm presently seeing has been on cruises before but is really interested in a transatlantic trip. I will pass this along to her because the Old World Style really appeals to her.
Kara Hultgreen (callsign "Revlon" because she wore makeup in an interview) did not pull the ejection handle at all. Her back seater pulled it, and because his seat fires first, then hers, he lived, as the jet rolled over, and she was ejected into the ocean.
Uncanny that a *certified* sexual harassment/assault response and prevention victim advocate would destroy two planes and kill everyone. That never happens!
We are going to need nationwide testing for all critical jobs. If poor job performance can result in somebody dying, that position must be DEI-proofed. Competence and danger are inversely related.
DEI is a thinly disguised effort to convert the entire economy into a giant democratic patronage mill . Groups that vote democratic are supposedly disadvantaged. If blacks still voted republican DEI would not exist.
Left wing politics is religion for people who don’t have one . It’s a faith based belief system based on an emotional need to believe in it. Not all religious people are stupid some are actually very intelligent. That’s why leftists are so impervious to logic because their beliefs aren’t based on logic or evidence
I come from a military family. My dad, my brother, and my sister all proudly served. No service member should ever be disparaged in the line of duty. Full stop.
What have we come to in this country that we disrespect our own people, much less the dead? This hatred is self-loathing of a nation people, of self. It will surely be the end of us. The cracks are widening.
"No service member should ever be disparaged in the line of duty"? Even Gen. Milley? Even Lt. Calley? Even Mengele? (since I assume the same standard should apply to all militaries, not just ours). No, I think the honorable thing, military or civilian, is to assign honor or blame based on actual performance. And while we don't know for sure in the current case, it's great that Ann reminds us about the military's previous coverup of a fatal crash. The Biden/Obama globalist regime that opposes borders and national sovereignty never wanted us to have our best military ever.
Thanks for your thoughts CB. But I’m going to respectfully disagree and I speak only for American military. When our members are dutiful to the constitution, they are honoring their oath to keep us safe. Calley went rogue. I do appreciate you sharing what makes sense to you and I’ll do the same. This country produced both of us and the first amendment supports both of us. Have a good night.
I read somewhere the Warrant Officer was the instructor in this training flight. If that's the case he would have had overall responsibility for the aircraft, regardless of who was physically flying at the time. My personal theory is the crew was distracted with something in the aircraft, whoever acknowledged the ATC controller of seeing the commercial flight saw something else, and quickly returned to work on the distraction. I've not seen it posted, but as a former pilot I can tell you that if you are on course to hit another aircraft, it NEVER MOVES in your windscreen, appearing as a single point of light, thus if there were lights close behind the other plane, it would be easy to get it confused.
I have yet to actually hear the pilot's side of that communication. I thought she was the one communicating and that is why they were hiding that information as well as her name.
First.... Prayers to all killed by this tragedy.
So they scrubbed all her social media posts before releasing her name. What are they hiding? I have not read or heard any such scrubbing of the other two pilots killed in the crash. What gives? What make her case unique to take such action?
Nobody does infuriating and hilarious writing better than Ann Coulter.

False and more gaslighting.

Dude! AC was doing a Babylon Bee parody.
Dude! I was commenting that Joy Reid’s premise is false and gaslighting.

Jared Taylor did a good piece on DEI in air traffic control: https://www.amren.com/news/2023/11/think-twice-before-you-fly/

I am still waiting for a report about how the two female Navy aviators flew their F-18 Growler into the snows of Mt. Rainier last year.
DEI is a thinly disguised effort to convert the entire economy into a giant democratic patronage mill . Groups that vote democratic are supposedly disadvantaged. If blacks still voted republican DEI would not exist.

Let’s hope the NTSB isn’t censored in the end. I’m addicted to Air Disasters. They’ve outed those at fault. Will see.
Was she the pilot in charge? She was not the one communicating with ATC.
