Ann, the nuclear weapon you've dropped on Lila Rose is definitely going to leave a mark. You make excellent points about how sometimes it's best to keep the big picture in perspective and accept 'half a loaf' as you say, rather than to keep the oven roaring and burn down the house. I'm wondering if the VAST sums of money she's making with this might possibly have some effect on her desire to relentlessly continue until there's a perfect victory, a total ban on abortion everywhere?
This may not be a perfect analogy, but I'm reminded nevertheless of the arc of modern-day ('second wave') feminism. One common criticism of it is that it should have been disbanded or at least toned down a few notches after the important win of equal pay for equal work, and a few other early successes. Instead of recognizing that they've accomplished most of their goals, they doubled down and dramatically amplified, expanded and broadened their reach and focus to the point where so many current societal ills can be traced to roots in feminist activism. Feminists just didn't want to shut down the gigantic river of cash that they had created, so they kept finding new causes and inventing new problems to justify their existence. Rush Limbaugh used to say (approximately) "If you want to really eff up the Chinese, export liberalism and modern Western feminism there. It will destroy them."
I'm thinking that leaving abortion laws with the States as they currently are would actually tend to improve the quality of life, slowly but surely. Conservatives who value human Life will gradually, over time, relocate to Red states in order to be around people who share their values and culture while liberals who demand the ability to legally murder their children on a whim will gradually relocate to Blue states.
Red states will get stronger and Blue states will become more ...murderous. Everyone gets what they want and abortion will provide a mechanism for achieving the separation of Left and Right that so many are calling for in these strife-ridden times.

It seems inconsistent to oppose abortion while supporting Israel's ethnic cleansing of Gaza, since both involve the destruction of those who cannot defend themselves. If one argues that the Israelis are vindicated by the superiority of their civilization to that of the Palestinians, then one should celebrate abortion for ridding polite society of undesirables, thereby liberating constraints on civilization. But this logic would have us thanking the Germans for taking the lead in suppressing Jewish Bolshevism, kryptonite to our civilization that it was.

Seems Ms. Harris is a determined individual—determined to pass the cost of her party policies along to somebody else.
I've long thought that the govt is putting something in the water to reduce testosterone in men. I was originally thinking about this as an explanation for the surge in men who want to be women. but it explains a few other things, too.

The Guttmacher Institute, which favors abortion rights, reports that there were more than a million abortions in the U.S. in 2023, the most in more than a decade and 10% more than in 2020.
Do you think the lower testosterone in men has anything to do with the fact we’re constantly forced to be around women? I know that hanging around women can lower testosterone 😂, but I’m telling you, you can’t keep away from them. The plant I work at has 20 different sections you can work and once we asked if we can have one section that’s nothing but men so we can tell jokes and not be plunged into poverty for it, and they said no. I know we can’t have Boy Scouts anymore either, schools don’t really separate the sexes even though boys and girls learn completely different🙄!!! Society needs more men only spaces! I think the obvious place is school.
on the topic of how the media depicts Democrats vs Republicans... I was at the grocery store yesterday, and a couple of registers down there were two magazines, side by side. one was a special thing all about Kamala. on the cover, she was smiling and there was good lighting and lots of colors. right next to it on the rack was something with Trump on the cover. the photo was dark, almost shadowy, with nothing but a grayish wall behind him, and of course he was looking mean and almost frowning. as I type this, I wonder if the person who set it up did it on purpose... the two, side by side.
The liberals are pushing joy, but the pass four years have been anything but joyful. Immigration is out of control with 10 million illegals coming already in the country, Inflation is out of control, congress can't agree on the most basic things, the economy is struggling and getting worse, two major foreign wars are currently being fought, if that's joy I don't want to be joyful.
