The problem is the GOP machinery is run by guys like Mitch McConnell. I don't think it really matters who the GOP POTUS nom is, under the circumstances. The policy choices wind up being Democrat or Democrat Lite.

The assholes are there because, in spite of all of the griping, voters keep sending them back to Washington. I gave up on the GOP 10 years ago.
I am reminded that his family were all registered Democrats right up until Trump decided to run for President.
And I never heard Jared Kushner's name until after the election. Trump knew exactly what he was doing, setting us up for the master con plan.
I don't think four more years to find out would be to our advantage. But Sleepy Creepy Joe sure cashed in from Trump's first term.
