I was a nine or ten year old child when I watched Nixon take the oath of office, and since then a lot of craziness has taken place in the arena of politics - but the democrat party has literally become a gang of thugs and have been openly calling on citizens to take down their opponents in any way they see fit.
It was no surprise to me that Huchul would put-in place a Lt. Gov. that would blindly do the bidding of their party --
But the level of hysteria and paranoia coming from the dems over Trump has been completely off the charts. NY politics is a different kind of animal /beast, yet the incompetence level is openly on display like many other blue state metropolitan areas.
I often think of the Pelosi family history, or the way the Clinton's have throttled the DC establishment over the years, and it all seems to make sense at that point.
To all the Ppl and Rino's who voted for Biden "Enjoy" ! I voted for Trump bc he was the best of the worst if he got reelected he would be done in 2 yrs and there would still be a Country left. This Country is over it will never be the shiny city on the hill!
I was really hoping you would write a piece about Steve Lopez who plead guilty in the Central Park case conviction being overturned. The press is calling it an “exoneration”! Ridiculous.
Glad you mention it! Several of the other accused rapists named Lopez as a participant. A female hair consistent with the victim's was found on his clothes and there was blood on his underwear. The only reason Lopez wasn't charged for the gang rape was this: The the ONLY ONES who got charged were those who confessed -- on videotape, in the presence of a parent or adult relative, giving details of the crime that only a participant would know.
Zeldin managed to thwart this attack with one hand all the while maintaining the microphone in a vise grip with the other hand. He’s not giving that mic up. What a politician.
This country has a lot of problems that smart people could fix. Our tax dollars could do more. Our streets could be safer. Medical care could be affordable for all. We could lead the world in clean energy (and make a lot of money). Fewer people could be poor or sick or depressed or addicted. We could give a crap about other people. This article by Ann does nothing about any of those things. None of her articles do. They just go down little rabbit holes, denigrating marginal politicians so her paid subscribers can feel good about their resentments and she can buy nice clothes. She’s an intellectual grifter. I would say she has a cold heart, because she never displays any human sympathy or concern for anyone else. But I think she really just wants attention and my $5 a month. Oh, and she wrote a book called “In Trump We Trust,” about the least trustworthy American ever. But you do you.
If you READ "In Trump We Trust," you'd see that I would take nothing back. I went on and on (and on) about what a buffoon Trump was, but said, HE'S THE ONLY ONE RAISING THESE ISSUES. You know, the ones you claim to care about, Noah: the poor, the sick, the left-behind.
Hopefully, the GOP has learned to stop sucking up to Wall Street and corporate America and that WE are the party of small business, families, normal Americans and the vast middle and working class.
We do have a lot of smart people. Something must be missing then.
One pressing social issue we did solve was the health care crisis. By the grace of god , the almighty savior barry obama and a packed Democratic Party controlled House and Senate, and all the love and compassion you can imagine, they solved the health care crisis! It’s over, done, solved. Everybody has affordable health care in America. Legal or illegal, everybody. Don’t tell me there is a health care crisis. They shoved it up the American peoples ass to permanently solve that problem and you should stop complaining. Remember : everybody has affordable health care.
Here’s what you don’t get: only shithole, non-exceptional countries, fail to make healthcare affordable. We were such a country and we still are. Nothing was shoved up my ass or yours: The ACA was voted on by our elected representatives and it passed. As a result, millions of lives have been saved. That matters in non-shithole, exceptional countries. Your resentment over it shows you don’t understand something about democracy: we vote for people, they pass laws, and we obey the laws. If we don’t like them, we vote for change the next time. Let me put it another way: sometimes you just have to do what your duly elected government says, because you had your chance at the ballot box and you’ll have another chance. Meanwhile, think about all the lives that have been saved because of the ACA and ask how your life has been harmed by it. Has it? Didn’t think so. You’re just mad. And you read Ann so you can keep being mad. That’s sad.
You stated ‘medical care could be affordable to all’. No that problem was solved ! It was promised and delivered wasn’t it ? ‘ millions of lives saved’. That’s a slogan, it means nothing and certainly doesn’t prove anything. And I’m not resentful. I wish it had been better and solved the issue but it was your people who wrote it and passed it. Every word was written by your loving compassionate elected officials. It actually wasn’t shoved up everyone’s ass, some people bent over and welcomed it. Has the Aca harmed me? My insurance coverage has increased. But that’s just me being forced to ‘pay my fair share’.
“My people.” And what did the other side do? Their proposal was 6 pages, typed, double-spaced — a bad joke — and then they tried 20 or 30 times to vote down the ACA. I think from what you’re saying you agree we needed a solution. We got a half solution, which is better than today when we get no solutions from Washington, where they all seem to think their job isn’t solving problems. If there weren’t problems, we wouldn’t need governments. And if our government hadn’t solved problems in the past, we’d all be driving carriages on dirt roads and spitting out rotten teeth and dying of disease at 30.
Ok now we’re getting somewhere. The response by the ‘other side’ showed they just didn’t give a shit. To be clear, they are not my people. I think as this country was growing people in power actually thought of the welfare and future of this country and their fellow citizens and that’s maybe why I still have my own grown teeth. I see little evidence of that care for America these days.. Some care, but a lot don’t. To have the speaker of the house madam Pelosi stand before a mic and say ‘we’ll just have to read the bill to know what’s in it’ makes my stomach churn.
Anyway, I can see I’m making a positive influence on you, you have some potential so keep reading my posts and you’ll make steady progress. And when I start writing, providing you continue learning I might offer you the chance to be my first paid subscriber! Please no need to reply. I can imagine how you feel.

Democrats: Just a gang of thugs.

Enough said no need to decertify myself!
Thank you for sharing your perspective Ann.
