"They signed a stupidity pact" ROTFLMAO!! That was just awesome, Ann, as well as the rest of the podcast.
I can attest to the tremendous value of the...now deleted... crime data map overlays in the real estate apps. I researched innumerable areas over the course of a year as I was deciding where I wanted to land after fleeing Soviet Seattle. Having no family that I needed to consider, the entire country was essentially open to me which made it a BIG undertaking. The crime map overlays provided unique data unavailable elsewhere in the apps that made the job SO much easier. I passed up on neighborhood after neighborhood, city after city that had initially looked okay from other data but when I applied the crime overlay map the 'nice' area suddenly became not so nice at all. The maps provided a far more precise view of individual neighborhoods than anything else and allowed me to zero in on exactly what I was looking for in ways that would have taken dramatically more time and a huge amount of effort without them.
Here's a free tip to an investor or app developer who wants to make a TRUCKLOAD of money: Build a real-estate app that includes precise crime map overlays that you can zoom in on at the neighborhood level if not closer. You will be the ONLY game in town for people who want the very most efficient way of finding a safe neighborhood to move to, since ALL of the other real estate apps have "signed the stupidity pact" and removed them.
Thank you Ann for the GREAT podcast! You're the best!

I'm honored that you approve, Ann! Thank you so much for your kind words as well as for reading my post...you've sent me 'over the moon' yet again! :-)
Perhaps I'm simply echoing Wyze Wildfire but for the myriad of data needful in relocation I've found the website city-data.com to be magnificent. For every city, town and hamlet in the US there is a dropdown box that allows you to review virtually any sociological, economic, educational and even physical (yes, they have average BMI info) aspects of the neighborhood in question. Very useful site.
Dear Ann. Would you mind explaining why there is a federal law making ALL elementary schools gun free zones? How’s that not in violation of the Second Amendment? Thanks!
Every time there’s an Amber Alert it gets canceled a couple of hours later and invariably the “abductor” turns out to be the father. So I’m sure that AA is being abused by women who are angry at their baby daddies for returning the kid five minutes later than he was supposed to from their visitation. And what are we supposed to do WHEN we get the alert? How about the police do their job in eliminating the shooter asap like they didn’t to in Texas? Or better yet allow teachers to conceal carry as Ann suggested?
"The year of our Floyd!!" ...That was hilarious.....)
Millions of babies murdered each year and now we're supposed to listen to dems dramatic appeal over the poor children? Maybe Nancy's priest will now allow her to participate in communion.🙄
Just got home and haven't had a chance to listen to the nauseating sound bites on this new bill, but I'm sure there's more bad acting right around the corner.
How about Amber Alert for rioting, so people would know where not to go? Unlike school shootings which last only minutes, rioting can continue for days to go on. Hundreds of people can be injured or killed if they enter the area without being aware of the situation. Amber Alert for rioting could prevent all of that.
Georgetown store owners used to have this app: GroupMe for getting the police to come when people were shoplifting.
The app worked great and the vendors all loved it, and shoplifting went WAY down, but all the shoplifters were black, so the vendors had to stop using it.
Before the advent of apps and such when I moved to a new city and before settling in I would make it a point to strike up a chat with any local, didn’t matter whether they were good looking or short. And I’d ask , so where are the ‘not so good neighborhoods’ or where are the places I should maybe avoid. Black people would reply oh, ‘you’ shouldn’t go here or there. Whites would would be a bit more direct like ‘don’t go here or there whatever you do, or that’s the bad part of town. The advice was always consistent no matter how unattractive or disheveled they were. Don’t go to where the people of color lived. The homeless would advise don’t go ‘here’ cause you’d be among the homeless you see.
Thanks Ann for developing a very interesting argument that won't be used by the GOP.
.....and these idiot Republicans will now go on Hannity tonight and repeat that same lame argument against this Amber Alert legislation....an alert for less than 1% percent of the shootings in America...as proposed by an even lamer party --- Democrats.
These people only know one language --- triggered rhetoric...........
I quit Next Door years ago because they promised that political posts would not be allowed. Once Trump got in office, Next Door blew up with nothing but politics. I pointed out the breach of rules to my neighborhood administrator, but nothing happened.
Most people have mobile phones. "Citizen" is a mobile app that sends users location-based safety alerts in real time. It allows users to read updates about ongoing reports, broadcast live video, and leave comments. Living near a large democrat run city (translate high crime), the App fires off so often it's necessary to shut the app down at night to sleep!
.Ann, that was both a completely nonsensical rant combined with grossly untrue statements. You included a subheader that said, Democrats are concerned about only 1% of murders and 99% of murders are OK. That is grossly inaccurate, a bald face lie, and Democrats could sue you for libel in England, but here your trash is somewhat protected by NYTimes v Sullivan, which your boyfriend Donald Trump wanted to see revoked so that you as a public person could be successfully sued for libel.
Restrictive covenants and redlining were bad and harmful to society and they were banned or made ineffective. Redlining was not funny if you were seeking a loan to upgrade your house, but it was denied based on where you lived and the race of your neighbors.
You continue to wallow in unsubstantiated falsehoods and make ludicrous arguments as though you are trying to maximize your clown points. Why not do your rants with a large red nose so we would understand you are a joke or clown seeking attention.
I think if you were near an active shooter you might want to know about it to avoid the area, but an amber alert for every crime would again provide information overkill that would be useless.
Why don’t you find a more interesting and informative topic like how to bake chocolate chip cookies. But you would probably object to those dark chocolate chips ruining your off-white cookies.
See you around. Right now I am waiting to see the Solicitor General file today a Petition for Rehearing of the Dobbs abortion case which I devised to have the Supreme Court reinstate a right to abortion and reinstating Roe-Casey as modifued.based- on the Thirteenth Amendment which abolished slavery and involuntary servitude. For a detailed explanation, seemy Harold’s Newsletter at:
Accusing someone of making "unsubstantiated falsehoods" without pointing them out, is libel itself. So if anyone guilty of libelous behavior here it's you!
Nonetheless, you still failed to point out where Ann made "unsubstantiated falsehoods". Without it, your accusation sounds like an outright accusation of lying. That could be interpreted as libel.
Harold… your’re a constitutional scholar by your own admission. Why screw around with the solicitor general? Buy yourself a new suit then present your suits before the court. Get yourself admitted to the court bar if you haven’t done that yet. You know you have can’t have had disciplinary actions in your past and no dissatisfied clients either. I know you’ll keep us posted on the 13th amendment challenge. Sounds like a sure thing. Then you can really give Ann the beat down she deserves.
Good luck with your involuntary servitude argument. If it works, think about the possibilities for applying this to other situations where people are forced to carry burdens or endure inconveniences. You can't make me give up some of my income by paying taxes! That's slavery. Wear a seat belt? No way. And don't make me get a vaccine I don't want. How about being forced to pay child support? Or, back when there was a draft, being forced into the military?Come on, people, let's think of some others.
Is having to serve in the military (and potentially dying) an inconvenience? The point of my comment was to coax you to enlighten us on when an inconvenience or burden rises to the level of servitude? Your research into the 13th Amendment must enable you to give a clear response. If not, then admit you are just winging it!

You flunk torts 101 where libel law is taught in law schools

Carrying a baby to term is hardly just an inconvenience. Silly response. One red nose ball for clown response

Go back to England.
I was there recently during the Queen’s Jubilee. She sends her regards to everyone except Trump loving Republicans
Thank you for sharing your perspective Ann.
