For the record, Mr. Trump, has DeSantis ever uttered a critical word about you? You claim that you are a "counter-puncher", but DeSantis does follow Reagan's 11th Commandment not to speak ill of a fellow Republican. There is no basis for Trump to try to destroy DeSantis.

Oh, I sure hope the trend continues. The last thing the country (and the GOP) needs is another four-years wasted with the Narcissistic Man-Baby occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue & getting nothing done...

If DeSantis had been elected in 2016, do you think the wall would be complete, illegal immigrants would be gone, and birthright citizenship would be a thing of the past, or do you think Pelosi and Shumer would have thrown every roadblock known to mankind in front of him?

Expand full comment

It's a dumb question. DeSantis wasn't even running in 2016. "If" questions are stupid & pointless, like saying that if my grandmother had balls, she'd be my grandfather.

And it's an irrelevant question too, because the wall still isn't complete, illegal immigrants are still there (with more coming in all the time), and birthright citizenship might as well be a thing of the past, and Trump had absolutely no impact or influence on Pelosi or Schumer whatsoever.

Your response to my relevant question is stupid. You completely missed the point. Nearly every post I see is Trump bad, DeSantis is the solution to all our problems, on the border and everywhere else. People can't wait to vote for him, right? Pelosi, Schumer, and the ubiquitous left-wing media would have absolutely crushed DeSantis like they did Trump. That's the point.

I’d like to second the request for the Kwanza article.

It’s good stuff.

As a newby subscriber, I want to see it too.

We need to stop cheering for the next savior. Classic republican agenda is a way to go. Conservatives used to oppose title IX because it created more diversity and inclusion staff at universities. Now, conservatives are the biggest defenders of title IX. Many conservatives now have become defenders of civil rights act and want to extend those protections to Christians. How about arguing for the reduction of civil rights bureaucracy that targets conservatives. You cannot win the game of government with liberals. Reducing federal bureaucracy is the only way forward.

I agree! You're going to like my column this week, Hunter.

Excellent point. Trying to out-Liberal the Liberals at their own game is a losing strategy if ever there was one.

DeSantis won Florida by ~1.5M more votes in '22 than he did in '18 flipping St Pete, Jacksonville, Palm Beach, Tampa and Miami red

True, there were about half a million more registered Republicans than 4 years before.. but the number of Democrats was about the same and he "only" got 0.5M more votes than in '18.

How did he win by 1.5M?

After 2 years of "DeathSantis" "Don't Say Gay" and "DeFascist" smears by the Democrats,

1 million Floridians who voted against him in '18... didn't vote against him in '22.

oh... Trump lost every large city in Florida two years ago.

Hopefully this poll will serve two purposes...increase Heavy D's name recognition among likely voters 'and' encourage Governor DeSantis to throw his hat into the ring. Thank You Ann for highlighting this!

Ann, I think it is time to do a reprise of your Kwanza article. Hilarious stuff!

Probably the best news I will hear today!

Trump has been quiet since announcing that he's running for president.

Maybe he is learning that true conservatives tread softly but carry a big stick.

I am most definitely for Governor DeSantis.

"Donald Trump’s ‘major announcement’ is a cringey line of $99 NFTs — of himself"

I just read this in the NYPost and am so depressed yet I do know that I am feeling sorry for the complete collapse of a human that probably never felt sorry for anybody in his life except himself.

This is the kind of crazy shit demented despots babble when they are pulled out of spider holes...or when they have been chilling too long with the Kardashians.

Of course with Trump we get the 'opportunity" to buy NFTs that portray him as Superman. Who could possibly pass up that great deal? And the tards over at Gateway Pundit buy into it /smh

Don't believe the polls. They were wrong in 2016 and 2022. This poll is wishful thinking and candidate pushing but I wholeheartedly approve on Ann touting it because I don't want Trump back. He didn't build the wall or enact birthright citizenship.

Better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission. He should've started building it day one.

Have we confirmed he’s read Adios, America? Do I need to send him one of my copies?

Obviously he knows the material, but it’s important he know how to be snarky with it.

Thank you for sharing your perspective Ann. Yes. Kwanza did come early this year— but as mentioned in yesterday’s memos — Hope over experience…(paraphrase).. the big question is, is this a sustainable movement for the long haul……I have my doubts. (Although I do believe in Santa Claus) Thanks to you Ann.

This is a good reason to support DeSantis in a potential Presidential try, if he were to pledge to bring this degree of heat to various scumbaggery at the Federal level.

"Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Tuesday that he has petitioned the Florida Supreme Court to empanel a statewide grand jury to investigate “any and all wrongdoing” linked to the COVID-19 shots to bring accountability to those who have engaged in misconduct."

On the other hand, DeSantis could do a lot of good by remaining as a Governor.

"DeSantis is the only sitting governor who could conceivably have the strength of purpose to lead a great reawakening of states’ rights. As I say, I don’t expect it. But he’s the only one who could do it—and he won’t do it if he’s busy trying to get himself elected president."

HOPEFULLY, among Gov DeSantis's other feats, he will have a few good Republicans ready to take his place.

I just hope that DeSantis is well vetted and has, or will do, a thorough job of opposition research on himself so that he may preempt any negatives early in the race, or even before the race, so that he can play chess with the opposition by anticipating their moves and neutralizing them in advance.

Just because DeSantis has been under continuous liberal attack and scrutiny for years, the oppo digs progressively deeper and devotes exponentially more resources to digging dirt as one advances up the hierarchy.

I believe that years ago, that in an interview or article, Ann shared the advice that as she progressed to national notoriety as a target of nasty ideologues she focused on the very worst things that she had ever done to assess if any of them were "that bad" because she had the full expectation that the opposition would dredge up everything even if it never happened...and how true that advice is!

Yes, my friend, a former liberal, went through a checklist: drugs? DUI? protest? abortion? whorish behavior? drunken nights? tax delinquency? After a series of "no"s, he said, "Boy, you've had a boring life."

I hope he does some pre-emptive self-vetting too, but even if he does, that won't stop the Narcissistic Manbaby from just dreaming up some nonsense & throwing out an asinine accusation anyway (like he did to Ted Cruz in 2016.) You know, making up some crackpot allegation so ludicrous & preposterous that only a Trump-supporter could possibly believe it.

All in with DeSantis. This is a good summary of his attributes. His service in the Navy was admirable, but we must keep in mind he served as a lawyer in the Navy. A needed part of the modern military, but not to be confused with more dangerous service. Keep up the good work, Robert.
