[We do nothing for more than a century to no ill effect …]
Well, maybe it wasn’t all that pressing 53 years ago. But now we’re REALLY headed for catastrophe if we don’t act now!
Despite Moynihan’s failure as a “rising seas” forecaster, his memo was wonderfully stirring. "Goodbye Washington"? If only!!!
I know Ann, my brother bought a brand new house next to the beach on the Jersey shore six years ago, all the while fretting about global warming and voting for leftists. The Russians or Chinese Communists are putting something in the water to make half the country schizophrenic I think.
The carbon dioxide "problem": CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere. Not 4%, not 0.4%, but 0.04%. Yet this trace gas is needed for photosynthesis, so without it there'd be no plants and thus almost no other life on earth. Moreover, the plants that need CO2 to grow also create the oxygen we need. When the planet was formed, it's thought the atmosphere contained no significant oxygen.
