I have a suggestion, how about allowing law-abiding citizens to carry pistols to subway so they can defend themselves and not being prosecuted afterwards? This simple solution not only won't cost taxpayers a dime, but will make criminals think twice before they'll decide to attack someone. Their next victim might well be their last.

There are some who wonder why so many New Yorkers who are able are voting with their feet.

Being trapped in a career that forces you to live and work in NYC in order to earn the astronomical sums required to pay the astronomical rents of NYC is a cycle that imprisons so many, but some have decided that they don't want to spin the roulette wheel of crime anymore. Being forced to give up your Second Amendment rights in order to enjoy the privilege of being feces targets, beating and knifing victims and marksmanship targets for those who choose not to abide by the frequently un-Constitutional laws in NYC remains a major draw, it seems.

I was finally able to flee Soviet Seattle a few years ago, having been 'imprisoned' there by family responsibilities for decades, so I know what it's like to desperately want to leave but being unable to.

During the last 2 years of my residency there I had to hold armed burglars at gunpoint on TWO occasions. The first time, seven police cars came, all lined up and down the block. The second time, only five came. Although on both occasions the Officers were supremely professional and not only didn't fault me for anything I did but complimented me on my actions, I naturally wonder if there would be any response at all today or if it would be me that would be carted off to jail despite my following every letter of the Law.

Seattle has a deserved reputation as a hard-Left lunatic hellhole as does NYC but at least we had our Second Amendment. I remain astonished that NYC hasn't completely emptied out by now considering the crime and the requirement that people submit themselves to violent psychopaths as victims and pinatas. It seems they are imprisoned by their responsibilities, their ideology or both.

All the great institutions of our civilization have turned on us and want us all dead. It's actually evil.

I arrived in NYC pre-Giuliani days and experienced what he achieved. It can be done, but we first must put the right mayor in the office, which is looking really impossible today.

Time to bring back Rudy. He did the the job before and he needs the money.

โ€œFor example, the broad-daylight rapist had already been arrested at leastย 14 times. Each time, D.A. Bragg simply let him go. The feces assailant had a slew of arrests for assault, theft and hate crimes, but the Bronx D.A.,ย Darcel Clark, also kept unleashing him on the public for more rollicking fun.โ€

In the dream world, why not try a class-action lawsuit against the RICO/politicos who have broken the โ€œSocial Contractโ€ and defrauded the public out of their tax dollars? Itโ€™s a scheme no different than โ€œgross negligenceโ€ in the private sectorโ€ฆthe sector that these very same political parasites love to harass and berate.

Cleaning up the subway step 1) Executive order suspending all car and Limo services in the city for the โ€œMuckety-Mucksโ€, you know the rich folks including City & State Gov department heads. 2) Convert all lighting in the subways with โ€œBlack lightsโ€, no thatโ€™s not racist. 3) Hand out super-soakers loaded with whatever reacts to black lights. Then sit down and enjoy the show. After a week the Muckety Mucks will personally finance improved security.

โ€œThus, the expertsโ€™ ideas were not aimed at actually reducing crime -- which to be fair, is impossible if youโ€™re not allowed to put criminals in prison -- but to โ€˜ease riders' fears about the subway.โ€™ โ€œ

Is this similar to whispering in the lambโ€™s ear just before the slaughter?

"We wonโ€™t be safe from psychopaths in the subway until weโ€™re rid of the psychopaths in the D.A.s' offices."

That would be the fuckin monkey if there ever was one Keith Ellison.....

...who is suing Hyundai and Kia for not putting anti theft security devices in their vehicles while knowing their vehicles are among the most attractive to thieves.

The Time's advice like "avoid eye contact" and don't intervene or rally the male passengers to stop an assault is about what I'd expect from a New York liberal. No mention of "who" is behind all the violence.

What Rudy Giuliani managed to accomplish 30 years ago may not be applicable today, because now in the era of camera phones, it's impossible to unleash the cops without catching for all to see few acts of police brutality. Another "George Floyd" incident will stop "tough on criminals" policy dead in its tracks.

With New York becoming so 'culturally enriched' by illegal immigrant surely this kind of thing can only stop, since these people are all saintly refugees fleeing political persecution.

Right? That's what I keep hearing.

I know that this is easy for me to say; I don't live in NYC, and even if I did, probably wouldn't be caught dead (pun intended) riding the Subway, but perhaps it's time for the paying customers that aren't criminals to just stop using them, and instead take other means of transportation. And when they aren't doing that, sabotage the subway trains, and destroy the entire system completely. Literally, eliminate it as an asset of NYC, and all the revenue that comes with it.

The asshole criminal commies that run that city, obviously don't give a shit about the decent people, and care only about the criminals, so just start destroying the entire city. They like criminals so much, give them criminals, and destroy the entire city. Burn it to the fucking ground, and then, "they" can be in charge of the burning embers that remain. It's either that, or start murdering the dirtbags that run the place, as well as the criminals they keep letting go. Fuck it, what's the difference?

You are not permitted to frisk anyone in NYC, and if you violate that rule, thereโ€™s a mountain of paperwork. Actually, cops have to complete forms for speaking with someone. Oh, and btw, Kathy Hochul disarmed the National Guard. That sent a message.
