She, like congressman Ted Lieu before her, disprove the stereotype that all Chinese people are smart.

Most psychiatrists have mental issues, that's why they go into that field. It's also a big rule that as a mental health provider, you don't comment on someone you have not met and personally evaluated, so this woman was way out of line doing that. And if you HAVE evaluated a patient, HIPAA prevents you from saying anything about them....

I've always noticed that, too.

Ditto. I've also perceived a high rate of social and mental issues in the children of psychologists and therapists.

My freshman roommate in college became a PhD Psychologist. Her SAT score was almost perfect. I realized quickly her high I.Q. which is 150.

The first day we met she told me, “I’m an Irish Catholic virgin from Fort Wayne and I intend to do something about it”. She started taking the birth control pill but back in those days there was a delay time of a couple of weeks before they took effect. She decided to perform blow jobs while she waited.

In the olden days selecting class registration took place in a large auditorium not yet online. She was pretty and chatted a lot with cute guys. She found a quiet place in the auditorium and gave SEVEN different guys blow jobs! Just imagine a guy telling mom&dad his registration went great! By Thanksgiving break she had slept with 22 guys. She even kept a journal to rate their performance. This continued throughout our college years and after we were no longer roommates other people were telling me stuff like she slept with three different guys in one night at parties.

She wasn’t kidding when she said she was gonna get rid of her virginity!! After breezing through her PhD she returned to Fort Wayne where I see on Facebook she has had a successful Psychologist career. She got married at age 28 and her son went to Harvard!!

I'm most surprised that there's a federal judge in Connecticut who's not in the tank with the democrats.

What the heck is a volunteer professor? Can I volunteer to set the Yale folks straight and list myself as a faculty member?

Unfortunately her thinking is all to common in USA...

What I find really troubling is when a US Supreme Court ruling is spilt on political party lines.

These are near genius level professionals unable to come to a rational conclusion.

Thank you for this minority update Ann. Personally, my gut reaction before I saw the doctor’s image was one of expectation. And the image filled my expectation. I do not subscribe to the game of “character assassination” no matter who what where (Yale)when why and how someone “works”. Plain and simply mean and unnecessary. In the long run, never works out for the aggressor. In this case, this doctor is the aggressor.

Is this the first sign that Ann is going to support the "R" nominee regardless of who it is? DeSantis knee capped himself with the 6 month rule, Vivek is too young, Haley and Christie are war mongering idiots. God help us.

No one is angrier about the 6-wk limit than I am. I begged them before not to do it, and yelled at them after they'd done it. BUT ABORTION ISN'T A FEDERAL ISSUE. Btw, as gov, RR signed the most liberal abortion law in the country. Probably a lot of his voters didn't like that, but again, IT'S NOT A FEDERAL ISSUE.

I don’t know what the “6-month rule” is, or what role it played in DeSantis’s decline, but Molly Hemingway in a recent column points to March 20, 2023 as DeSantis’ “inflection point.”

Said Mr. DeSantis in a snide swipe at Donald Trump on that date, “I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair, I just, I can’t speak to that.” Regarding possible extradition from Florida, he added that he had “no interest in getting involved.”

Ms. Hemingway states: “For many Americans, including nearly the entirety of the Republican Party, what the Department of Justice and Democrat prosecutors up and down the Eastern Seaboard are doing to Trump, his family, and his political party is a dystopian and authoritarian nightmare. In that context, giving any aid and comfort to his prosecutors is viewed as a betrayal and lack of judgment.”

Her column,

https://thefederalist.com/2023/11/06/the-inflection-point-for-desantis-campaign-woes-isnt-what-he-thinks/

includes an RCP poll average graph for a 1-year period. It clearly shows 03/20/23 as the departure point at which DeSantis’ polling declines – and Trump’s improves – dramatically.

LET'S MAKE DEREK CHAUVIN PRESIDENT! He was the victim of an unfair prosecution! How about those Proud Boys in NYC? Presidential material ,I tell you. In fact, I often say to myself, the NUMBER ONE quality I'm looking for in a president is, "was the victim of an unfair prosecution." I think it's in the Federalist Papers.

Expand full comment

I agree. Being the victim of unfair prosecution is not a quality that I look for in a presidential candidate, either. But it does seem, from some very early polling, that this unfair prosecution has made Trump more attractive to certain demographics that are typically not amenable to GOP candidates. (All while doing nothing to alienate his base.) Equally important, DeSantis giving aid and comfort to Trump’s prosecutors shows poor judgement on the part of DeSantis.

I'm sorry, but I don't what the "6-week rule" is, either.

On 4/14/23, DeSantis signed into law a Florida bill that bans abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. It only takes effect if the state's current 15 week ban is upheld by the State Supreme Ct.

It will never take effect, but it will piss off a lot of voters for no reason. Most likely it will lead to lots more babies being killed in late term abortions when voters get an initiative on the ballot and add a constitutional amt to legalize abortion LONG past 15 weeks. Good going, pro-life zealots.

Ann is about a light year from stupid. She won't sit this one out. We all like R.D., but so far, it's not working. Democrats are dreamers, not leaders. Keep them out of power, we might stand a chance.

She had taken the position that she had a duty to warn the public that Trump was a threat to public safety.»

This seems exactly what you believe as well, Ann.

Until you have a substantive discussion with Charlie Kirk and Victor Hanson I’m not impressed with your hiding behind Chinese nationals saying what you believe about Trump because you’re so full of bitterness.

So you can "catch" mental illness from someone else? Isn't this in line with the fantasy that obesity and alcoholism are actually diseases? Like you catch either from swimming in a tainted river or being bitten by a rabid squirrel? Medicine's really changed since the '60s.
