The same principle applies to the world of entertainment, which is to say the institution that influences the social attitudes which then influence politics.

How many no-talent hacks have made their way to the top of the Hollyweird pile just because they are perfect mockingbirds for establishment positions on everything? You think that, for example, someone looked at Seth Rogen or Sarah Silverman or Amy Shumer and said "my God, just look at the talent"?

Wait, those three might have something else going for them in the movie biz...

Oh come on. Parroting had nothing to do with most of them. They either made it there on their backs or knees or both.

I find Seth Rogan to be quite funny.

Unfortunately, you're right. I haven't seen any of his newer ones, but in his movies that I've seen he's very funny.

They will never forgive Justice Thomas for surviving that "high-tech lynching"!

It's been a literal state of war against "conservative" (so-called) nominations ever since, but it started with him.

Bork was 4 years before Thomas. Bork was the dress rehearsal for Thomas. Thomas got borked.

Ann, VERY well written piece, which is my greatest concern. Your thinking is so prescient it scares me.

I LOVE YOU FOR THAT! thank you!

As part of college campus tour my kid and I visited Cornel University. At the visitor welcome center there was a section showing off the famous Cornel people. GInsburg, of course Carl Sagan, and even that science guy. But alas, I did NOT find Ann Coulter. They forgot to say "Famous Cornel people who are not conservative." My kid eventually went to a different school

Excellent article Ann!

You are correct Ann. Unfortunately your prediction on 2024 is correct too if Trump is the nominee. He's all mouth, no juice. He may restrain himself leading up to the nomination but not during the campaign where predict he will be running against RFK Jr. and lose by a landslide. The Senate and House will go back to the Dems but no super majority. I believe DeSantis is our only other choice.

I agree on DeSantis.

Hopefully he can get his head out of his ass on his pro life and pro Ukraine views. My mom is the best Catholic I know and is pro choice, says you do not want to be that baby that no one wanted. And Ukraine? Can we just protect our own borders first?

Netanyahu would be way better than DeSantis

"she was slobberingly interviewed by Stephen Colbert"

There are progressives like me who can't watch stuff like this.

I am convinced HRC would have won the 2016 election if the media had been meaner to her.

Bernie Sanders goes on The View and the women all make jokes about how they have a crush on him and patronise him—Joy Behar names her dog after him. It's pretty much sexual harassment. "Isn't it cute you're running" was the 2016 attitude.

HRC doesn't just appear on set in situ like Sanders. She walks out to thunderous applause with triumphant music playing as they stand for her and all the questions are some variation of, "Isn't it amazing to see you? How can you be so wonderful?" followed by five minutes of clapping for a few-word answer.

The media helped her to stay aloof and inevitable, which was probably her biggest flaw.

It was not a gift. It was a curse. Trump ran circles around media conventions baring them for what they were, as the media tried to buoy HRC with those same media conventions.

And for accolades as influence, Obama was given the Nobel prize with a set of expectations he failed at miserably. He bombed Yemeni civilians at Saudi Arabia's behest. He let Gitmo stay open. He perpetuated the war in Afghanistan. He stirred the shit, with HRC's help, in Libya and Syria. I'm not sure anybody interested in the cause of peace got anything for lauding him with that prize.

Yes, and don't forget the RBG votive candle to light at your woke altar. A wokster can burn it in admiration next to their matching votives of Obama and Hillary. A local New England shop proudly displayed the collection in their store window.

Excellent article. All I have to say is I remember Obama’s very rich buddy in Palm Desert who hosted him to play golf while prez. Yes he flew AF One in and frolicked. More than once. Being a fellow golfer I can’t blame him. Some on the right criticized it. No one on the left.

If the GOP had any balls they would be in the process this very minute creating a Commemorative stamp depicting Dems and the Left (is there any difference between the two these day's?) frantically trying to lynch Clarence Thomas from the nearest tree.

RBG opposed Second Amendment rights and was on the record of considering judicial precedents of other countries in deciding American cases. That's the High Treason! Her only "conservative" accomplishment was waiting long enough for Trump to become the president and giving us an originalist Amy Coney Barrett. Thus, thanks to RBG's egotism we have pro-Constitutional SCOTUS right now. If I were a Democrat I would be greatly pissed at RBG right now. At least, the first female (and pro-abortion) Justice Sandra Day O'Connor was responsible enough to retire when republican president was in office.

RBG's huberous gave you Dobbs. Having ethics and reporting standards for SCOTUS is long over due. Thomas and Ginsberg aren't the only one with a closet full of perks waiting to fall out. It should apply to everyone starting now! Starting after the summer vacations? Starting after the holidays? Grandfather in all the goodies that came before, but start sometime soonish. Do you think RBG was a genius who knew that for every action there was an equal and opposite reaction that foretold independent and suburban women leaving the Republican party at the national level in droves, and catalyzing Democrat women to get everyone they know out to the polls?

Thank you for your perspective Ann. Good one—“The Tiger Beat Worship”. Cavett Robert/NSA “Character is the ability to carry out a good resolution long after the excitement of the moment has passed.” Character assassination is cruel. I believe (maybe too hopefully) most humans, good persons can see right through it.

Humans believe in freedom--for themselves, from themselves, from responsibility. The same freedom for others? Not so much.

Liberty is better than freedom.

Individual liberty is what we are as a nation...it is the cornerstone of our nation...those rights that protect individual liberty are sacred...

It is just a pity that the majority of our population thinks the cornerstone of the US is either the daily antics of the Kardashians or everything for free without work...

Little wonder those real American heroes, our Founding Fathers, had little faith that we could keep the wonder that they created.

How do worms like Schumer, Schiff, Nadler et al live with themselves? Soullessness is a very special art.
