We can save social security and medicare by slashing the bloated 850 billion dollar defense budget. How come there's never any talk about cutting welfare and medicaid?

The Freedom Caucus has several members who support amnesty.

I agree, and when we have found those "monsters," have we made things better in the last fifty years? No. The Republicans have no message anymore. We used to argue that exporting free market capitalism helps others help themselves. Not, Democracy per se, free market capitalism. Adherence to the rule of law. That is what helps people help themselves. But that is not our message anymore and the message of the well meaning Democrats is to give up on other countries and import the poor here to improve their lives. The D leadership of course believe this will increase their power because they are importing voters as well. I do know a fair number of run of the mill folks who consider themselves Ds who I believe sincerely believe the former so I feel compelled to include it in my comments. My answer is that if the fundamentally alter this country, remove market capitalism and rule of law, this country will be unrecognizable. Look around, it is getting there already.

As someone who worked on Social Security reform in the period 1995-2006 on and off the Hill for a moderate R (I was and am more conservative), it blows me away that we are reviving plans and ideas that might have worked then, now. We got shot down then ultimately. Who thinks this is a good idea now??? It's over already so put away your "personal accounts" and start thinking about the more mundane reforms regarding benefit calculation and changes to the payroll tax. Rs could very well just leave that to the Ds when the program can only pay out 70-75% of benefits. Let them try to raise the payroll tax two or three points...

I've been saying Musk is not interested in free speech longer than Musk has said he is not interested in free speech.

"Hate" is only used as an adjective by racists and authoritarians (and racist authoritarians.)

Only a Stupid Party would let its opponents get all the benefits of being Uncle Sugar to the voters and then insist when the bills come due that it, not its opponents, gets to be Uncle Scrooge and earn all the voter anger.

Let the Democrats be the tax collector of the welfare state.

Thanks to Mickey for stating that obvious political error.

When will these amateur President ever learn?

If theft of classified documents is the goal, the surefire MO is to wait until those documents are actually in the National Archives and then enlist an inadequately endowed Presidential National Security Advisor (who can’t plead naiveté concerning the rules and laws) to enter the Archives and pad his socks and pants with national secrets before nonchalantly exiting the building.

Stuffing one’s socks and pants with national secrets serendipitously triggers immunity by default. Apparently this method of espionage must be covered by ADA as an emotional support necessity.

Too bad we can no longer ask Sandy Berger for a ruling on the reasoning here...maybe the old adage, big feet...big....🤷‍♂️

Have been out of circulation this weekend and just now hearing about the "Biden files", but am personally burnt on the msm crying wolf, along with over playing any reports of evidence and malfeasance on the part of Trump.

Had fun watching members of congress on the verge of fisticuffs like the good ole day's during the Civil War. But glad McCarthy was pressured into Acquiescing and decapitating the heads of some of the leftist committee leaders -- if they do anything about the border I'll be shocked.

Always enjoy listening to Micky and Coulter -- especially when there saying things on this platform that they would never say out in the open. Gotta sign off and try to find some of my brain cells.

Thank you Ann and Mickey K. for your excellent articulation of the breaking news. In re: the rules conversation: Sometimes I wonder about our leaders in Washington and think: Dear Lord are we all back in kindergarten? One should read actually read the kindergarten rules entitled : “Everything I need to know I learned in kindergarten”. Eye opening. Thought provoking. Lastly, the immigration issue is a Civil Liberty issue. I agree with Governor Abbott’s letter to President Biden. This current admin. is failing. One need only sit across the table of a newly arrived-from-another-country-person, (which I have done in the past) and see, feel and hear their true fears. I can only imagine their fears about the new and now “remain in USA policy”. We can do better. Civil Liberty issue.
