YES!!! Soccer is watching grass grow with people in the way.
Also as usual this was fkn hilarious ๐๐ I still wish youโd post audio of you reading all your columns, but I can totally hear your voice when I read it ๐

Right on spot Anne . I have always criticized soccer for the reasons that you mentioned. How can it possibly be a sport, if youโre not allowed to use the second most important tool of what separates us from other animals? And thatโs the opposable thumb. It seems anti-intellectual at best.
NFL โplayoff games get 30-40 million viewers โ Ann the โWorld Cupโ playoff game with the GOAT Messi got 50 million. Soccer just went to #3 beating #4 MLB snooze sport. NFL is still #1, for now, and NBA #2. I never appreciated soccer until two of my sons played the game and my oldest son played football and won every game until the state championship game. CTE is real and concussions will someday be the reason โfootball dadsโ like me think twice about risking their sonโs health over getting to wear the jersey on Fridays. The lifelong injuries of football is why us dads wonโt let our boys/grandsons get into boxing like the Muhammad Ali.
As far as playing for 3rd place F-that๐. Times are changing Ann and stop sounding like a grumpy old lady. With all due respect, just watch Sundays match and enjoy.
It might be worth noting that soccer has more international appeal than American football. That COULD- and Iโm just speculating here- provide an explanation for the 50 million vs 30-40 million viewers.
If you're going to bring up inconvenient facts, how about a trigger warning? Here's a photo of all the people forced to play, or watch, soccer--> <--
How dare people make different choices?
The soccer-style kickers in "foot"ball have gotten so good the leagues moved the goal posts back 10 yards. How many "foot"ball players actually kick the ball in a game? Hint: it's twice the number of the guys who get to have another guy get his teammate to stick his hands against his butt. When they go to the shotgun, do the quarterbacks lose their erection?
50 mil was U.S. eyeballs... The people that don't want the U.S. to dominate soccer are the Europeans. The game will follow the money and if the U.S. pays the top players more the next generation of Messi like players will be here and not there. At one time boxing was more popular than football. Think Jack Dempsey. I'm more of a gear-head and don't read the sports page much. But Chris Borland was a U.W. Madison standout linebacker that walked away from the San Francisco 49ers in the prime of his career because he was worried about the 'impact' on his brain.
At least womenโs basketball is adopting a couple of the most exciting features of hockey - beating each other up and playing dirty.
Sunny Ann is always right as well as amazingly lovely and perfectly adorable!

Ann, if you don't get BOTH the Mark Twain Award, AND the Freedom Award, I'm going to lose it!
Thank you Ann, you are a great American.

Once again, Miss Coulter ๐ฏ๐ฏ
Yeah, it really is lame. Imagine the nba finals being decided on free throws. And all the histrionic flopping. Disgraceful, inferior sport.
Classic Ann. Thank you.
Now they are pushing cricket in the USA, which, I suppose, is the preferred game of Muslims.
Ya know, I really enjoyed PLAYING soccer. I HATE watching someone else play. Just sayin.
The greatness that is COULTER!

Have a great weekend Adam !!
Wonderful and witty. You were prescient indeed.
Hockey is an extremely exciting game of Soccer.
But look on the bright sunny WOKE side, the men's soccer team earned 16 million dollars which they must share with the women's soccer team - https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/49301582/us-men-women-get-equal-split-16m-world-cup-prize
I always learn something from Ann. This time it's "opposable thumbs"!
