Investing in a “skilled government workforce” is only one of the Big Four of Democratic issues today.
The other three are Bringing illegal Immigrant Gang Members Back to the US, Stopping the Fascist War on Trannies and Protecting Harvard University from Dipping Into Its Endowment.
Of course, as the mid-terms get closer all of the above will be forgotten and Democrats will once again pose as the Party of the Working Families.
Any time a bureaucrat is fired, left-wing media regales its audience with tales of how many "years of experience" the American people are losing the benefit of.
Such narratives could be printed about an employee who engages in any conceivable crime or any conceivable level of incompetence or malice, even from his very first day on the job.
A rational person recognizes that media are lying when they conspicuously omit the reason cited for the firing. That was part of old-school journalism. But to today's Left, including the perspective of the disliked actor is "participation in Nazism" or somesuch, and so the truth must be omitted.
Trump seems hellbent on making the best possible use of DOGE's savings by increasing the "defense" budget from $841 billion to over $1 trillion. When two oceans just aren't far, deep, or big enough . . .
So, I have an idea for your next book. Titled something like “Ann’s Files Of Government Excellence", something along those lines. With your usual entertaining commentary, of course. I’m sure you have plenty of other material, going back to at least LBJ’s administration.
Back in mid 1986, the CBC news magazine show "The Journal" did a documentary segment about NASA in the wake of the Challenger explosion. One of the things they reported was 'stunning cost overruns,' such as the aforementioned $600 toilet seats, $1200 for 30 cent bolts, etc etc...
'government inspectors found two warehouses full of spare parts that had been ordered and forgotten about.'
That was fairly jaw dropping at the time, and only years later did it dawn on me that in such waste was probably covered up the CIA black op budget, or part of it.
This rampant fraud has to be a relatively recent phenomenon because also back in the 80s the Dems were ranting and raving about Reagan's tax cuts leaving in their wake "$200 billion in hot cheques," which at that time was a lot of money, as tax revenue amounted to half a trillion dollars.....
I wonder if at least a portion of the waste fraud and abuse [registered trademark] is simply to cause disgust among regular people in order to get them to tune out of the news altogether and just give up and hold on to what they have.
More recently, the federal government sent disaster aid to Puerto Rico after a 2017 earthquake, and the aid sat in a warehouse in Puerto Rico until 2020.
On PlutoTV there are several channels that run old Bravo reality shows. I'm now wondering where the millionaire humanitarians and artists from Shahs of Sunset and Million Dollar Listing LA and New York will be moving once USAID and other programs end.
The magnitude of fraud, waste and abuse found is apparently related to our Federal Government on-the-books debt. First we go morally bankrupt then financially bankrupt.
Serve God or Mammon, pick one. Looks like Mammon is in the lead at the present.
Not a lawyer but in our litigious society wouldn’t it make sense to file a class action lawsuit against the government for the taxpayer. This theft must stop.
Statistics [the math] says that the further a system's behavior diverges from the mean, the more likely "reversion to the mean" will occur.
Beginning with the Industrial Revolution, the U.S. and other capitalist nations [Britain was once capitalist, no joke!] strayed far from the center of the bell curve by suddenly producing hundreds and even thousands of times more wealth than they had produced just a few decades earlier. Soon, quality of life soared as well. And the immense anomaly of improved circumstances for living popped up right in the middle of a dark age.
The point: If one is interested in discovering root causes for the global war against capitalism and rising quality of life, one might consider that nature is simply dragging us back to the center of the bell curve and to the normal miserable conditions for life in the dark age -- you know, the one we've been passing through these the last 10k years.
Another way of saying the same thing is: many people have to live under stone age conditions for tens of thousands more years to evolve enough to tolerate many others running around and having a great time.
I paid high 5 figures in taxes this year, like every year. It gets harder and harder to keep it going when this country laughs in my face and these crooks treat the federal tax base like an atm with no limits
As I am forced to watch the evening news with my mother in law (on those legacy networks) I should stop fuming at the "all female heroines" out in inner space, the Trump admin in contempt for sending a gang member to his due and on and on and just stand up and read Ann's gold column on all this crap. Boy, if CBS could just do one paragraph a week from this column at the end of their "news", the country would right itself in a few months. The outrage continues.
The Democrats are a criminal enterprise pretending to be a political party.
To them stealing from taxpayers (a euphemism for white people) is a badge of honor not crime

Well yea they have to increase funding in order to pay for the fraud. Same principle as finding money to PAY for tax cuts.
@ "Wooten committed suicide, leaving a $4.5 million check"
We need more such suicides and checks made to the American People from these Dems.
She may have voted Democrat, but she clearly didn't have what it takes for elective office. She was no Maxine Waters.
No one has what it takes to rival Smacksie Maxy.

How about just Files of Government Excellence Read Incompetence

If I remember correctly it wasn't just sitting in a warehouse, it was being sold on the black market.

Nothing like the contempt self-actualized when politicians and bureaucrats “spend other people’s money”.
Nothing is respected that is not earned.
My mom worked with a guy in the Dept of Ag in my state that slept just like in the pic only he pulled out an entire file drawer and slept in it.
To make matters worse the liberal media provides cover for the Deep State's misdeeds!
