I was finally able to escape Soviet Seattle after a lifetime of watching it being needlessly destroyed by Democrat policies. I would have left decades earlier but family responsibilities kept me there. In the final couple of years of my residency there I held burglars at gunpoint TWICE on my own property....and this is in a nice, residential area. The first time, SEVEN police cars came, lined up and down the block. The second time it was four cars. In all cases the police were very professional and found no fault in anything I did...they were even complimentary of my actions.
I wonder what would happen there today. One car? No response at all?
My heart goes out to law-abiding New Yorkers...you're not even allowed an effective means to defend yourselves against the violent ferals, and most of the politicians appear entirely disinterested in prosecuting the Democrat Party's primary voter base. Of course I'm hoping Zeldin is elected, but the polls aren't in his favor and even if he's elected there will probably be tremendous resistance to any efforts to crack down on crime in any sort of a meaningful way.
Just know that not all of America is this way. There are still MANY absolutely wonderful places to live with low crime and friendly, non-Communist neighbors. You don't have to live this way and you shouldn't be expected to.
Please remember...if things don't look like they'll get better where you are and you decide to move, leave the liberalism and Democrat voting behind. Don't spread the cancer any further. ;-)
It’s not just politicians issuing marching orders to chiefs, it’s judges and prosecutors being appointed by blue politicians or being elected in blue cities. Ultimately, bail and sentencing falls on the judiciary. Judges can act independently until reversed. Voting Republican is essential to BEGIN to reverse the insanity.
Zeldin did an absolutely fantastic job collecting all these horrific anecdotes of crime being rampant in NY. He used it well to appeal effectively to moderates and democrats to show his campaign is not about being partisan. His debate performance was A+ perfect, going on an offensive and passionate tone. Zeldin shld take these stories from Ann's article as well and blast it in the campaign trail. it's abt these personal stories that truly matter.
A systemic issue. Ongoing. Worsening day by day. The cash bail/post bail/bail is a big part of problem. Clearly is not taken seriously enough—especially when the money changes hands. Thank you for continuing to follow up and keeping the issue of crime in the forefront Ann.
Guilty !! Domestic Terrorist here in WI is going to jail for life after killing five adults and one 8 year child by driving thru a Christmas Parade last year in Waukesha. The families of the victims, people watching and in the parade will have to live the rest of their lives with the terror of that day. The Dems have become a death cult. Children, fetuses, innocent bystanders and police they just don't care. Sad...
Jesse Mandela Barnes in the 2nd debate with Ron Johnson was asked about a 12 year old girl that was killed in Milwaukee 4 days earlier and the 20 kids killed this year and what he would do to stop the carnage and went straight into background checks. Zero sympathy from Jesse...
Sucks to be in NY and any other dem run city. Maybe it is the "demon" party, not the "democrat" party? I mean seriously getting assaulted on the street in broad daylight like that sounds like a scene straight out the zombie apocalypse, this is straight from the pit of hell.
I escaped downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. I lived in a 20 story condominium tower full of liberal-leaning control freaks ---- but always so pleasant about it. I could walk to work.....that made it worth it to me.
Mayor Carter was elected [young black man and local.....good for him]. Everyone in my building thought that was great politics. Soon came rent control and no police funding or arrests. Soon after came the vagrants not only threatening my neighbors on the streets...but in the stairwells of our 24/7/365 Monitored by a human Security Building!! The residents are now complaining......guess they didn't see that coming. Why? One word. Stupid. Nice....but....stupid.
These are the same people who hung BLM support signs off their balconies......as buildings burned.
Minnesota used to be the Land of 10,000 Lakes......it is more like the "Indigenous Land of 10,000 George Floyds".
