As Ann says, only the very rich stand some chance of avoiding the tyranny of government. Assuming this decision stands, where does this line of reasoning end? Would a public school or charter school receiving federal funds be prohibited from requiring teenage girls to wear bras (the male classmates say "cool")? Bras differentiate girls from boys and "stigmatize" them, n'est ce pas? How about just being called a girl? Ouch, I am harmed for life. Why can't we all just be people? Flip this around and if boys cannot wear bras and earrings and use tampons then they are aggrieved, too. Governmentally required "weirdo city."
One of the many reasons parents send their kids to private schools is precisely 'because' they have strict dress codes,which has the effect of reducing the distractions created by fashion & style competitions among students and (hopefully) helps kids to focus more on academics and be better students. So now that we have a situation where the 'tomboys' as well as the 'woke' girls will bully the feminine and traditionally-minded girls into wearing pants "so you will support the Sisterhood!" they've eliminated a MAJOR reason why parents send their kids to these schools to begin with and we'll probably see a mass exodus from these schools as well as plummeting academic performance.
The parallels between Western woke-ism to Mao's Cultural Revolution and the actions of his Red Guards are simultaneously chilling and sad, as they remind us how the Left never changes and never learns from their mistakes; they just keep beating that same drum and only changing the terms used to describe their tactics from one generation to the next in the hope that nobody will notice and they will be successful this time around.
Following this trajectory, the next items on their agenda will be, as Ann mentions, an assault on girls' bathrooms but also an all-out war on homeschool families ("Sinister outposts of racism and transphobia!!) because homeschooled kids, who actually have critical thinking skills and have avoided the Left's indoctrination, are the greatest long-term threat to the Left's agendas and their permanent installation of the iron bootheel of Marxism on the neck of everyone, everywhere.
The loss of dress codes may be snickered at by some as a minor irrelevancy and not worthy of concern, but it will be taken with appropriate seriousness by people who have studied history and have seen this before. The phrase "Socialism arrives by bicycle" is worthy of remembering, as it speaks to the incremental, long term tactics of the Left.
