Many of our teachers were not only rigidly heterosexual, they refused to discuss their personal lives or their sexuality at all with their students. Instead of teaching us about the inherent evils of whiteness and of the horrific oppression that a person with white skin, especially a man, automatically inflicts on everyone around them, even without saying a word, we were taught completely apolitical and therefore useless subjects like English grammar, math and science. Teachers were almost never arrested for sex crimes with children, which proves how completely backward they were in their own lives.
