Bannon advises GOP to commit suicide
Being sane is your STRONG point, Republicans. Please don't give it up.
From the front page of today’s New York Times:
Is there some reason the Times would be promoting Steve Bannon? Why, yes there is!
<<[Bannon] has also encouraged hard-right lawmakers to use the House floor to yank legislation as far to the right as possible — earning themselves media attention in the process. His advice to them: “Get an amendment. Make it as outrageous as possible. Just be on there — don’t worry if you’re not on Fox — we’ll cut it, we’ll play it.”>>
RIGHT WHEN the GOP’s most powerful issue is that the Democrats are insane (on race, on crime, on the border, on drugs, on transgenders, on Ukraine, etc.) and Republicans aren’t, Bannon advises Republicans to act crazy. Repel normal people! OWN THE LIBS!
<<Mr. Bannon, an unrepentant agent of chaos, admits he was spoiling for a government shutdown.
“You create a firestorm now that totally changes things,” he said. “People right now think government is a benefit. I’m going to show government spending as cootie-infested.”>>
THAT’S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Voters hate government shutdowns and always blame Republicans. Always. You’ll “really change[] things” all right — by making Republicans a teeny, tiny minority party.
Odd that the Times would be billboarding Steve Bannon’s advice — oh wait, I see.
I don't think these are Coulter's Laws* yet, but they should be:
'Whatever the NYT says, it's most likely that the opposite is the truth'
'Whatever the NYT recommends Republicans do, do the opposite if you want the Republican Party to be successful at anything'
'If you want America to prosper and succeed as a Nation, do the precise opposite of whatever the NYT recommends'
'If the NYT approves of what you say, you're either an America-hating Leftist or a completely misguided Republican whose actions would harm America or the Republican Party'

*Coulter's Law
From Ann Coulter: The longer we go without being told the race of the shooters, the less likely it is to be white men.
I must admit I have no idea how this is going to turn out. Anecdotally, yesterday all I heard from anyone talking about this is “I hate them all”.
