Thank you Ann for linking to this interview! Regarding your mentioning that it is your intention to have guests on your podcasts at some point, I have a request:

Please push that to the back burner for at least a little while...we haven't even come close to hearing enough just from you yet! You've been absent from TV for so long and it's been a little while since your last book so even for those of us who regularly read your columns and listen to you with Mark Simone, we really haven't heard enough of your perspectives on issues of the day. The podcast medium is so perfect for that...it's finally a chance for you to speak without constant interruptions and to get your full thoughts out...not just the Reader's Digest version, but the War and Peace version that thoughtful listeners will appreciate.

I refollowed Josh after listening to this pleasant exchange. You are correct, Ann, he is good at it. And on the Trump issue, I was not on board until he won the Primary. It is precisely because he broke his promises that I felt vindicated, although it certainly didn’t help the Country. No one should give you any shit about him because he has only gotten worse. The cult must differentiate the loss from the revival. We could could easily lose with him because the Democrats won’t make the same mistake in 2024.

Ann, you brush-up against an issue during the Trump years that nobody ever mentions, let alone can explain, when you most correctly hand Trump the responsibility for hiring the toads who impeded his stated platform at every turn. But an equally duplicitous leg of Trumps impotent ginning up of the faithful was the fact the Republicans controlled both chambers of the legislature during The first 2 years of the Trump presidency and all they did was gin up the faithful on the crucial target voter issues to raise money and never do a damn thing except perhaps supporting the liberal’s agenda. In commerce this is known as a Ponzi scheme and theRepublications have been practicing it for decades. Yes, for any of his saintly minor faults, President Reagan is still my touchstone to judge the excellence of governing.
