Ann, have you heard of Alex Epstein? If not you should listen to Jordan Peterson’s podcast with him titled “The Great Climate Con.” He does an excellent analysis about the green movement being “anti human” and how that is essentially because it was reborn of marxists, and the right did a really poor job of responding to them which allowed them to become righteous by virtue of having poor opposition.
Basically I recycle because it saves me having to pay someone out-of-pocket to get rid of the stuff. There are two recycling stations very close to my home, so it isn't a big deal hauling and dumping stuff every 6 weeks or so. But, I have no idea where the recyclables go after I get rid of them. All I know is that I don't have to deal with the stuff after I put it in the green dumpster.
