That said, assuming Ann's assessment of Trump being a hard deal-breaker for them, which match my own observations, the strategy to win an election does not suit defying them. So that we get a chance to see how well each candidate can compete and think on his feet. While DeSantis has presented the best case on the issues in each debate, he has lacked the 'it' factor. Americans want a winner in the White House because the world is a cutthroat, competitive place. Unfortunately for DeSantis, both Trump and Biden have already been President. Combined with his lack of brilliant charisma and his less than impressive campaign, DeSantis seems to offer the potential of not being up to the job. Biden would likely big-league him in a debate and Newsome would likely out-Hollywood him. It is still early. If Trump is disqualified or does something even more outrageous than he normally does on a routine basis, DeSantis would then become a viable front-runner. The world has never seemed more unhinged than it is right now and anything can happen in the next 12 months.
America still needs to be sold on Ron DeSantis. Trump has his base, has already been President and outdoes DeSantis every day in the court of public opinion. While DeSantis may be preferable to Trump as President, he lacks the debate tenacity of Trump, the name recognition and the enthusiasm that Trump retains from those who voted for him in 2020.
If not for the cheating, Trump would likely have won in 2020 and likely did win but was cheated out of it. Now that Americans have experienced the real Joe Biden, the only way Biden can prevail is if the Republicans run an unknown quantity like DeSantis or any of the rest of the Republican field.

I completely understand you. My resentment for the left is at 11 and I want to make them cry. That said, assuming Ann's assessment of Trump being a hard deal-breaker for them, which match my own observations, the strategy to win an election does not suit defying them. Winning over soft-dem fence-sitters by capitalizing on all the internal dissent among Democrats by not forcing them to swallow Trump who they've been programmed to hate and fear and yet to still get over leaving their old mindset behind and vote in a sensible way that aims to do something about all these problems that they can no longer deny are problems - THAT would be picking up votes and so THAT would be good strategy.

Looking at the Republican field, who can take on this blob and win? Ron DeSantis is a decent guy with all of the right ideas. A truly good man with smarts. But you can't beat a somebody with nobody. DeSantis has had every chance going in to steamroll the rest of the field and has mostly sputtered. This is why we have debates. So that we get a chance to see how well each candidate can compete and think on his feet. While DeSantis has presented the best case on the issues in each debate, he has lacked the 'it' factor. Americans want a winner in the White House because the world is a cutthroat, competitive place. Unfortunately for DeSantis, both Trump and Biden have already been President. Combined with his lack of brilliant charisma and his less than impressive campaign, DeSantis seems to offer the potential of not being up to the job. Biden would likely big-league him in a debate and Newsome would likely out-Hollywood him. It is still early. If Trump is disqualified or does something even more outrageous than he normally does on a routine basis, DeSantis would then become a viable front-runner. The world has never seemed more unhinged than it is right now and anything can happen in the next 12 months.
America still needs to be sold on Ron DeSantis. Trump has his base, has already been President and outdoes DeSantis every day in the court of public opinion. While DeSantis may be preferable to Trump as President, he lacks the debate tenacity of Trump, the name recognition and the enthusiasm that Trump retains from those who voted for him in 2020.
If not for the cheating, Trump would likely have won in 2020 and likely did win but was cheated out of it. Now that Americans have experienced the real Joe Biden, the only way Biden can prevail is if the Republicans run an unknown quantity like DeSantis or any of the rest of the Republican field.
RFK Jr. is a wild card. He could draw Democrats away from Biden or RINO's from Trump. The more you bash Trump, Ann, the more likely we will get the latter over the former. Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool. But I don't think either you or Trump can take that advice to heart.
