Bill Clinton really degraded the moral level of the presidency. I believe the toxic political discourse began when the left and the media went in open arms defending Clinton trivializing the event. People say it’s just a personal affair but I 1000% disagree. I really hate the lie about how this was just an affair when he was a clear rapist, which in other words means he's a criminal. He should have been removed for this. I really appreciate all the hard work you did during the impeachment Ann! Thanks a lot!

Happy Anniversary!

My favorite defender of Clinton was Nina Burleigh, the female journalist -- what else? -- who said she’d gladly don the presidential knee pads and service Bill for preserving abortion rights.

Clinton was, and is, an extremely weak man. We were lucky at the time he was POTUS that the country was prosperous and we weren't picking fights with the Russians and the Chinese.

Don't forget the rest! Clinton's legal team won summary judgment against Paula Jones, based in part on Clinton's lies in his deposition (no evidence of "pattern or practice" of predatory workplace behavior) . When the truth came out, the Arkansas judge was forced to reopen Jones' lawsuit against Clinton. That judge also penalized Clinton over $80k for contempt of court in submitting a perjured deposition as part of the record. The Arkansas state bar disbarred the President for his actions. And, finally, just to show you how much of a sociopath Bill Clinton really is, he suggested in his autobiography that the Arkansas judge was biased against him because Clinton, when he was a law professor, had misplaced her exam paper. That judge had given Clinton a full dismissal!

AND... Clinton settled with Jones for almost $800k. That means Bill Clinton's perjury almost let him get away with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from Jones.

Even though I was fairly young and so a Clinton "fan" when he was president ("he played the saxophone on Arsenio!") the Monica Lewinsky situation left a really bad taste in my mouth. A man as smart as Clinton knew there was no justification for the way he was treating women, but he continued anyway, and continued lying about it, not to mention degrading them in the press. He literally ruined Lewinsky's entire life. It's great to see the world treating her better now that she's in her 40s, but the feminists of the 90s and early 2000s absolutely skewered her. For two decades she was persona non grata personally and professionally, while Clinton went on to become a beloved and super rich ex-president.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and moral consistency Ann. Do anything. Say anything. Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others—lies fall into that moral category. Power in the hands of weak leaders is downright frightening. Sad many continue to “look the other way”.
