The Perfect 2022 Headline: "Alabama City Moves to Dissolve Police Department Over Racist Text"
Oddly, the Times refuses to tell readers what the text said.
The Times gives us all sorts of information on this story — the basic facts about a police department being dissolved over a “racist text,” various officials and departments condemning the text in the harshest terms, even the census records on the town that no longer has a police department. (“The city, which is about 30 miles southeast of Birmingham, has a little under 2,000 residents, 392 of them Black, according to census figures.”)
But the Times never reveals what the text said.
It must be REALLY bad. This is a newspaper that famously published the words, “fuck,” “pussy,” “bitch,” and “tits” in a front-page article about Trump in 2016. But it’s too delicate to print a “racist text.”
Obviously, the text has to include the N-word. Probably vulgarity, cruel stereotyping, sexual and bestial references. Who knows???
Luckily, we have America’s Greatest Newspaper, the UK’s Daily Mail to quote the text at the center of this national crisis. Here’s the exchange too shocking for the eyes of New York Times readers:

Still, it’s that odd these Dogpatch bumpkins were using this ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING text as a reason to disband their entire police department. I suppose if the offensive and yet still top secret text was sent by the sewer commissioner, these dopes would remove every one of the town's flush toilets.
I'm all for stupid towns self-destructing. There have to be better uses for the real estate.
It's heartbreaking to visualize the shocked expressions of disbelief on the faces of the wife and children of an award-winning Officer of 20-plus years with an unblemished record who has to explain to his family that he was fired from his job because a new kid on the Department tweeted an ancient, well-worn joke to someone else...which is based upon truth.
We truly are in a Dark Age now, where so many in Government are rushing to embrace similar attitudes and policies as those championed by Mao's Red Guard and Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge, garnished by a sprig of North Korean informant-culture coupled with "serious thought leaders" remaining silent or even quietly encouraging the foundations for a Chinese-style Social Credit system...selectively implemented thought and speech codes whose violators will have their lives and careers destroyed for the slightest perceived infraction with no opportunity for a fair hearing.
For those rolling their eyes and scoffing, just wait until it's your own heavily-indoctrinated children who are informing their School Gauleiter that you've uttered a 'transphobic slur' which even today can be most any common phrase at all.
The day will soon be upon us when an entire police department being shut down over one ill-advised text message...which could have been effectively dealt with by a private meeting of the 'offender' and a Sargeant or the Captain of the Watch... will, in retrospect, seem like a blissful era of freedom, sanity and openness.
We have been "Slouching Towards Gomorrah" (Robert Bork) for decades and it will take decades still to bring us to a New Enlightenment. Be thankful for those rare, fearless voices that lead us to an eventual time of healing such as Ann Coulter and hopefully President DeSantis.
