Thank God the Times isn’t onto Justice Sam Alito’s American flag yet, but it’s only a matter of time before these sleuths expose that symbol of hate.
Here’s the Times’s actual update today about the troubling “Appeal to Heaven” flag and Phillies flag at the Alito beach house:

This time, it was the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, which, like the inverted U.S. flag, was carried by rioters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Also known as the Pine Tree flag, it dates back to the Revolutionary War, but largely fell into obscurity until recent years and is now a symbol of support for former President Donald J. Trump, for a religious strand of the “Stop the Steal” campaign and for a push to remake American government in Christian terms.Yes, no one’s ever heard of the “Appeal to Heaven” flag until THE INSURRECTION ON JAN. 6 WHEN WE ALMOST LOST OUR DEMOCRACY!

In point of fact, the NYT pubbed a story in the 2020 era about the American flag being "provocative". I swear. A black woman was reported decrying the flag flown from pickup trucks in a NJ or some such NE state made her feel threatened.
