Prediction: Tim Scott Will Be Polling 1st or 2d
Give it up, Republicans. They'll NEVER not call you "racist."
Here’s a fun bar bet. Before the primaries are over, Sen. Tim Scott, a black Republican, will be either the frontrunner or a close second. How do I know that? Because black Republicans — even the ones not running! — ALWAYS poll first or second.
We get it, Republicans. You’re dying to prove, once and for all, that you are NOT racist. Yeah, we know that. The left will still call you racist. Ask Clarence Thomas.
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane:
COLIN POWELL:
“If Colin Powell entered the Republican presidential race he would …become the immediate front-runner, according to a new national poll. …
[P]owell would earn 34 percent support to lead the field, the poll said. Dole's support would be cut …to 29 percent, placing him second.”-- South Bend Tribune (Indiana), October 29, 1995
ALLEN KEYES:
“With 94 percent of the Republican precincts reporting, Mr. Bush led with 41 percent of the vote, followed by Mr. Forbes with 30 percent, Mr. Keyes with 14 percent,”— The Washington Times, January 25, 2000
“Keyes… won the Alabama Republican Straw Poll last August in Birmingham.”— The Associated Press State & Local Wire, July 18, 2000
CONDOLEEZZA RICE:
“Condoleezza Rice was named [by Oregon delegates] more than any other Republican as the party's potential nominee for president in 2008, according to an Associated Press survey.” --The Associated Press, August 29, 2004
