«Rather than merely giving cash, Mr. Seid donated 100 percent of the shares of Tripp Lite to Mr. Leo’s nonprofit group before the company was sold to an Irish conglomerate for $1.65 billion….»
Read the whole thing here.
Also, note the Times’ url:
republican-dark-money!!!
Do articles on George Soros, Laurene Powell, Hansjörg Wyss or Arabella Advisors have “democratic-dark-money” in their urls?
Anyway, here is the great patriot:
Barre Seid
God bless this man!! I remember at a speech you told us that one of the best pieces of advice you could give conservatives was to “Go out there and make as much money as you can!” And you joked that maybe we could buy our own politician (you probably weren’t joking) 🙃. Keep writing kickass articles. You’re one of the only people I pay attention to.
WOW! Since at least the 1970's, TrppLite has been a highly-respected manufacturer of industrial-quality AC power socket strips, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems for computers and related products for residential consumers as well as for industry. For decades, whenever I've needed anything along those lines I'd first check to see if TrippLite made it, as they were always among the best quality. The stoat cave must have 30 or more TrippLite power products, some dating back to the 1980's because they're super high- quality and just don't wear out.
"Dark money" indeed! HA! ;-)
Beyond that I hadn't been familiar with the company or the owner but of course I'm delighted not only that he gave the shares to Republicans but also that he had the corporate handover go to investors from The Emerald Isle and not the Chinese. Seems like a huge win all 'round...providing the new owners will keep the product quality high.
Thank you Ann for letting me know that my instincts in being a huge fan of the company were right all along...and now I'm raising a toast to Barre Seid...you've done us proud!
