Bloomberg did it first. DeSantis sends illegals to Martha's Vineyard.
Michael Bloomberg shipped New York's homeless to Miami
First, a sampling of the reactions to Gov. Ron DeSantis’s flying illegals to “sanctuary city,” Martha’s Vineyard:
— Charlie Crist, Democratic nominee for governor in Florida: It was "to score political points and feed red meat to his base.”
— Massachusetts State Representative Dylan Fernandes: “evil and inhumane."
— Rep. Bill Keating (D-Mass.): “history does not look kindly on leaders who treat human beings like cargo.”
Tell, it to Bloomberg, buddy.
Miami: New York's Answer for Homelessness
By Todd Wright, NBC Miami, July 29, 2009
Miami is as desirable a destination as there is -- even to the homeless. Well, especially to the New York homeless.
Turns out NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg's new "homeless one-way ticket out of town" program has South Florida square in its sights as a marquee destination. Florida is one of the top requests from NY homeless families who are looking to either reconnect with family or find a new park bench, according to The New York Times.
New York will pay for air, bus or train fare to get homeless families out of the city. Now that's either cruel or ingenious. You decide.
Anybody calling DeSantis’s relocation program “cruel or ingenious”?
NBC Miami continued:
Sure, Miami seems like prime homeless real estate with the sun, no snow, the all night, free Metro Mover and the expensive left overs from Brickell Ave. restaurants. But don't get it twisted. Floridians rank low on most homeless advocacy groups' lists because of their inability to tolerate, help or humanely treat the homeless.
By contrast, liberal cities rank quite high on services to illegals. They are “sanctuary cities!” Illegals welcome!
Win-win!
Too many seem to be forgetting that all of this can stop quite easily and rapidly. Just develop an interest at the Federal level in actually enforcing America's borders.
Although I'm sure Ann would agree that it would indeed be inhumane for illegals to be flown to 'sanctuary cities' on Delta, the only actual inhumanity in the equation is the suffering being inflicted upon American citizens in terms of the massive tax load illegals create, the crime & drugs so many bring and the gradual loss of American culture as we're faced with the normalization of child rape, MS-13 tattoos and a generalized grittiness to the communities brought by people who weren't born here and only care about the country as an entity to supply their free meal ticket. Liberals wringing their hands over supposed poor treatment of illegals would prefer it if they were all kept in what they arrogantly and dismissively refer to as 'flyover states' so they can pretend the problem of an open border doesn't exist, but you're not going to be able to escape the results of Liberal policy quite so easily.
Have a chat with Joe The Puppet's handlers if you want it to stop.
Send a number of illegals to Hawaii - in care of Mazie K. Hirono. Nice weather and "climate." A few wealthy folks live there: Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bezos, Bette Midler - even the Obamas are building a home there.
